When do decorations come down?
When do you take your Holiday decorations down?
We put almost everything away this past weekend. Mainly because once work and school start up again, I have no idea how crazy our schedule will be.

On Jan 1st everything was down and packed away. I love Xmas but once New Years arrives, I'm done. It just doesn't feel festive anymore once the New Year starts.

I'm such a grinch. Took down all the decorations and outdoor lights the day after Christmas. Took the tree down on Jan 1st. 4 year old DS helped me. As he was taking off ornaments, he was singing, "Christmas is overrrrr, Christmas is overrrr..." I'm raising another little grinch lol!
Don't get me wrong. I absolutely ADORE Christmas! But, once Christmas is done, I am done... and it all just becomes clutter to me.

I think DH is taking down the outside decorations today (he's off). I will start putting the inside decorations away tonight after work. The trees will stay up until this weekend.

100% this. I took everything down on 12/26! After Christmas is over I find it depressing to look at.

DH leaves up his nativity until the 6th. Our tree came down yesterday- I am usually not in a rush but it was so crispy and dead I could not justify leaving it up longer. And from there it was easier to just put everything away, but I will take down the rest of the outside decor when it's dry.

When I was growing up we waited until after 1/6, which also happened to be my dad's birthday.
After he passed - a long time ago - my mom and I stopped doing that and just took it down whenever, but generally sooner.
As an adult, I now do it on New Year's day before I go back to school.
I just like to start the New Year with a relatively clean house and the decorations all look cluttered and messy after a while. I do a big Christmas village and by 1/1 it's been bumped into a million times and my son has moved all the people around anyway.

Normally I keep it up until the 6th. But ieverything was put away on the first this year.
It was s horrible week with everyone sick and I just wanted to get it over with.

Our NYE party was cancelled because we were all sick so I took down the inside decorations except for the tree on the 31st. The tree came down on New Year's Day. Hopefully my DH can get to do the outside lights this week.
