When did your LO stop taking a sippy or bottle before bed?

My DS is 16 months and I'm desperately trying to wean him off of breastmilk. He is dairy intolerant so cows milk is a no go. He gets a bottle of pumped BM before bed and I started cutting it with 1 oz of almond milk 2 days ago. Last night he knew something was up but drank it all but 1oz and tonight he completely refused it.

I have a sneaking suspicion that once I stop nursing, he will stop drinking milk altogether. How old were your littles when they dropped their bedtime bottle? How did you change your bedtime routine?

She's almost 3 and still requires one during story time but we make her brush her teeth before lights out.

A cup of milk not a bottle.

DS is 21 months. If I'm home, he'll nurse before bed. For the 2-3 times I have not been home, DH offers him milk in a cup, but he barely drinks it.

When was the last time you had him checked for his dairy allergy? A lot of kids outgrow it. I also think coconut milk is a better replacement than almond milk. Almond milk is so thin and watery to me and is nothing like real milk.

He mostly does okay with most dairy now but will still get a diaper rash and loose poops with too much dairy so I'm just not keen on cows milk. I tried coconut milk s few weeks back but he wouldn't drink it. My ped recommended almond milk because of the calcium and protein.

I'm just at a loss. I feel like the older my DS gets, the harder it is to wean him.

Trust me I know! My DS is still nursing 5 times a day when I'm home and we don't have plans (he rarely asks if we're out and about). He'll just keep signing "more milk" while saying "more mama milk" while shoving his hand down my shirt.

My DS primarily has BM or water that's it. Days he only nurses 1-2 times, he gets all his calories from food. If he won't take the milk maybe just do water? My son loves seltzer or as he calls it "bubble water" - granted I give him relatively flat seltzer so it doesn't explode in the straw cup but he still loves it.

2 years 5 months when we took bottles away. Once we took the bottles away that was the end of milk. She always refused it from a cup.

She gets plenty of dairy from yogurt, cheese and now she'll drink the milk out of her cereal bowl.

DS is 2.5 and still drinks a small cup of milk about half hour before bed most nights. Sometimes he forgets to ask for it, so I don't offer it then, but if he asks I give him.

My son is 6 and still likes a cup of milk before bed. He stopped the bottle one day shy of his 3rd birthday.

He was less than a year, I think he started refusing the breast/bottle at night probably around 10-11 months old. It really depends on the night the only time he still wants it is if dinner was more than an hour before bed.

DS's last bottle was around 2 years old. He's 3 now and still has warm milk in a sippy when he's winding down at night. Sometimes he has a whole cup, sometimes only a few sips. It's the only milk he drinks most days, so I have no plans of cutting it out.

Re: When did your LO stop taking a sippy or bottle before bed?

I think around 5-6 months old (if not earlier). they both just dropped it on their own.

ETA: my routines would be bath then bottle for bed. starting at around 8-10 weeks they were both sleeping through the night by then when bed time was at 11 (last bottle) as the days/weeks went by we pushed the bath and bed time more back so I am thinking they didn't need to bottle anymore because their last bottle was not that far a part from bed time. also during the day though I feed both kids every 4 hours that also might have helped with them dropping it.
