When did your DC start using regular toothpaste?
DS is 2 1/2 and he just does not get the whole spitting toothpaste out thing, but I feel like his teeth aren't really getting clean with the non-flouride toothpaste.
When did your DC get the idea of spitting or when did you start with regular toothpaste?
Thanks!

Re: When did your DC start using regular toothpaste?
We started DS on flouride toothpast when he was 2 1/2 after his first dentist appointment.
The dentist told me to use the most TINY amount of toothpaste and even if he did swallow it, the amount is so small it would not be an issue.
He's 3 now and much better on spitting out now.

Both my boys started between 3-3.5 yrs old. I know when I went to my oldest son's 1st dentist appt at that time they told me before 5 is ok to still use training toothpaste.

That's interesting. My pediactric dentist told me that you can actually start using the flouride toothpaste when they first start getting teeth. Just goes to show you that everyone's got a different opinion.
