When did your Child start to drink from a normal cup?
DD is almost 2.5 and still drinks from a sippy cup straw cup

John is 23 months and we started about a month ago giving it to him when he is sitting in his chair for meals.
on the go.. NEVER use a regular cup yet!!

DS just turned 2, he's 24 months and he started drinking from a cup in the last month. Taught himself by sneaking my glass of water (plastic cup).
He gets a real kick of drinking from a cup so after meals I give him a cup in the high chair. Throighout the day I still give him a straw sippy.

For those using cups, what size are they?
At daycare, they use open cups during snack time so apparently he does it there. I really need to get him some smaller cups to try at home but he always spills!
He's 22 months.

Around 2.5 also...but he doenst pay attention and spills alot (never when drinking) he just knocks the cup over all the time so we use the sippy alot more often!)
Anyway, Target sells some cute smaller cups and I get some from the dollar store. Also SOLO had a set that is really cute, its small disposable cups with a top and a straw. I use those alot with other kids and then when its just DS I dont put hte lid on.

I think every child is different. Around 2.5 my DS wanted to only drink out of regular cups 24/7. However, even at 3.5 at play dates some of the other kids were still ONLY drinking out of sippys - the spout ones.
My DS hadn't had a spout cup since like 16 mos and when the mom gave it to him when he asked for a drink he was staring at it trying to figure out how to get the drink out faster 
My DD is 20 mos and is nowhere near ready to do this - she makes such a mess! Purposely!
