when did your baby sit up? what can i do to help him?
My ds is 7 1/2 months and can only do the tripod position for a very short amount of time. When did your lo sit up? Is there anything I can do to help him? My Dr said don't worry until another month but everything online says normal age is 5-6 months. Since he is late sitting does this mean all of his other milestones will be late also? Thanks!!

Both my boys were late sitters and there's no issues. DS1 sat at 7.5 months and DS2 sat at 8.5 months. Ped didn't worry. I know kids that never crawled and at 11 months walked. Sounds like he's fine and keep doing what you're doing.

My girls will be 8 months next week and they JUST started to really have their balance in the seated position.

Sit behind your LO and put LO in a sitting position, hold LO low on the waist to help build core

I used to sit DD in the middle of the boppy for some support if she started to fall backwards
maybe try that

I agree. I noticed DD had the early skills of sitting up around 5 months. I diligently did this every night for at least 10 minutes. By 5 1/2 months she was sitting up independently, a little wobbly. By 6 1/2 she was a strong sitter.

I used to sit on the couch with DD on my knee, holding her around the waist for balance, and then I noticed I'd need to hold her less and less. That's the same idea as using a Boppy, and gives you different ways to achieve the same sitting practice.

I have twin boys that just turned 8 months yesterday. We are getting early intervention because my twin B is low tone & still cant sit up either. He is just starting to get his balance. Have you thought about calling them for a consult?

This worked well for both of my LOs. DD was sitting unassisted by 4 mos. My DS is only 3 mos and I can't believe how well he holds himself up. I find he wants to sit up on my lap and watch what his big sis is doing. Its so cute.

Low tone means low muscle. They have to build it up. THey don't have the strength to do it.

My first DS did it early, lie 4-5 months. My little guy was lazier. He started dong it around 7 months, bu would tip over still. Between 8-9 months he became more secure.
