Same time as the inlaws? Or did you tell sooner or later?

i wanted to hold out so badly and not tell them until we had a sono/doc appt. but about 15 mins after BFP (at 1130pm) we called both families lolol

When I got preggo with Ali, we went straight from my 1st doctors appt (which I think was 5 weeks - 5 1/2 weeks) to my parents house and told them. Then we drove home and called his parents when we got home (they live in Florida).
So to answer your question - the same day

We're lucky and close with both families. It's just hard to get them together sometimes b/c my in-laws are on Long Island and my parents are in NJ. It worked out around 12 weeks we made plans to have lunch with everyone in NJ so we just announced it then to both parents and siblings toasting w/ mimosas (I had only OJ)... then we told everyone else a week or so later.
It's totally up to you. We liked telling everyone together. It was special.

With my 1st- the day after I got my BFP.... she found out before my IL's- but thats because I saw her first... They found out on the same day..

With this baby- My plan was for DS to wear his "Big Brother" shirt at his family b-day party (which was the day after my BFP). I POAS- showed DH, jumped around and minutes later the phone rang and it was my mom... So I blurted it out... Had she not called, I wouldve waited until the next day, like everyone else...

She called in "the heat of the moment" so- she got to hear the news 1st.

My parents passed away when I was 14. I told my family just before christmas over the phone since they are 3 hours away.
DH's parents we knew would be more excited and we took the sonogram and wrapped it up for christmas and had them open it, they loved it! DH's dad cried!

I told my Mom 2 days after I got my BFP, once it was confirmed by my doctor. I'm very close to my Mom so I had to tell her right away.
I didn't tell the rest of my family for quite some time after that. (including my Dad--they're divorced and I'm not all that close to him)

About 2 minutes after I got my BFP I called and told my mom and dad, and DH called his mom. His dad he told a couple of days later. We were gonna do it in person because we had plans to go for dinner but other people were going, also, so he just told him over the phone.

well we are closer with my parents than with my In Laws so my parents heard first with DD. With this one - it was hard NOT to tell them - since we were in WDW with my parents and they were in the adjoining room - so they found out the same afternoon I told DH.

We told my inlaws at thanksgiving because we live out of the country and had flown over to spend thanksgiving with them. I was only about 6 weeks at the time.

We didn't tell my parents (and my immediate family) until Christmas Eve - I was 10 weeks at the time.

we told Dave's parents a few days before my own, because Dave's dad was going in for a major surgery and the whole GOD FORBID factor.

my mom did not take that news (surgery or no surgery) very well, but she's also insane.

about 1/2 hour after i poas which was early in the morning. earlier than the ILs, but we thought MIL would have a difficult time keeping the secret. we wound up telling the ILs a week or two later.

We told them the same night, Christmas Eve.

All of our family and good friends.knew right away. We did IVF so everyone was waiting for the big news.

The night we got our BFP we went to both houses.

I made sure to tell my parents before my in -laws. My inlaws found out the next day. Since I was the one preggo I thought my parents should know first

I told my mom right away, and we told MIL a few days later.

i told my mom and my sister right away we didnt tell my dad just yet he has the biggest mouth his family found out soon after. we told my extended family on thanksgiving

I called my mom while I was still standing in the bathroom staring at the test! We told the in-laws around 7 or 8 weeks. I left it up to DH & that was when he felt comfortable telling them.

told my mom the next morning after we tested positive HPT. DH told ILs a few hours after that.

i told HER the day i took the test. before BF even.....
i asked her not to tell nayone until my first DR visit


BF told his Dad the same night as well

We held out til our sono at 9 weeks. Then we told my mom that day and then went to IL's and told them!

I told my mom the day I got + test. She and I are very close and I had been feeling so sick for the previous two weeks, she was already convinced I was pregnant!

Told MIL after my first sono, at 8 weeks. DH comes from a very large family of siblings, we didn't want to let that many people know before we had confirmation.

Plus I am carrying MIL's 12th grandchild. The excitement isn't the same in my family as it is in his.
