When did you switch your DC to a toddler bed?

And which one did you buy?

My DD is already almost 15 months and with the exception of months 3-6, she has slept in the PNP in our room. (Her nursery doesn't have A?C and by the time she was 9-10 months old, when A?C is no longer an issue, it was torture trying to get her back into the crib...)

Anyway, we don't have a convertible and i was wondering what you all would recommend. I really have my heart set on white--even though the rest of her accessories are espresso. Oh well....

Also, does the crib mattress fir into the toddler bed?

I put DS in a toddler bed right around 2 yrs old, probably 2 yrs and 3 mos because there was a recall on his crib and I had nowhere for him to sleep. I'm not sure what kind I have....I bought it off Craigslist for $50.00 its a natural wood color to match his other furniture. And yes, the crib mattress fits.

We just switched Landon last night to a toddler bed. He is 21 months old. I wanted to keep him in the crib as long as possible, but now that he has been climbing out I was worried about him falling out and getting hurt. So we switched to the bed.

DS never even thought about climbing out of his crib, so we kept him in there until after he turned 2. We got just the normal natural wood toddler bed. You can find many different colors and styles for under $100 at TRU or Walmart, etc. They fit the crib mattress.

I transferred Teddy at 23 months!! A toddler bed is the same size as a crib!!! HTH

21 months we converted her crib into a bed at at 26 months, we moved her into a full sized big girl bed

2.5+ out of necessity. His crib was recalled.

I removed the drop side because his bed was convertible to a toddler day bed without the drop side.

Otherwise he would be still in it.

I will transfer directly to a twin bed after that.

I would say she is too young to be moved IMO. I would NEVER put my kids in a toddler bed and they are almost the same age(a little older) I would suffer the few nights of misery to get her accustomed to sleeping in her crib and hold on to that until she climbs out. Thats my plan!

Zoey is 19 months and although she puts her leg up AS IF she's gonna climb out, she's never made a real attempt. If I had her in a bed she would be all over the place so I'm hoping she stays put. As for color, if you want white I would just get it since she'll only be in it for a short time. Zoey's crib is a dark cherry color and I really wanted her pieces to match and i got lucky and collected floor samples of 2 of the 3 pieces she has from Behr's! However, her room is pink on the top and brown on the bottome separated with white chair rail and all the doors and doors and trim are white so I got a white bookcase from IKEA for her room to break up the dark wood. I would want the big bed to match. Hers goes from crib to toddler to daybed to full so I'm good. If she's not trying to get out why move her?
