When did you stop jarred foods?

DS is 15 months. Can and does eat table foods and working on using a fork/spoon. He still likes his purees, especially when he's tired.

DS still has pureed foods a couple times a week even though he's on table foods for the most part. Veggies go down easier when pureed, for example. He likes them in one of those pouches he can suck up. He's 22 months.

Re: When did you stop jarred foods?

I stopped jars around 9 months when dd was eating more table foods and gave pouches instead. Now at 17 months she still eats puréed veggies and fruits but in pouches especially when her teeth are bothering her. Those canine teeth are vicious!

Re: When did you stop jarred foods?

DS is almost 16 months and I have the sitter give him jars with breakfast/lunch two days a week, they are veggie jars. She has the patience to sit there and feed him (he doesn't mind) and it's a good way to get veggies in his diet that I don't cook often for him. Did the same with DD. other than that he's on all table foods the rest of the week....

Re: When did you stop jarred foods?

Julian will be a year on 9/9 and he still eats them mostly. The stuff we buy is certified organic and the varieties are SO healthy: carrots, spinach, squash, apricot, mango, etc. he loves it ALL.

They have stage three which are chunkier and we still give him table foods along with it. I'm in no rush to get him off of them. I know he will when he's ready and when it's best for him. I doubt he'll be eating them when he is in his 20's. hahaha

Re: When did you stop jarred foods?

I want to say maybe 11 months. She never really liked Stage 3 foods, so we just went to table food.

Re: When did you stop jarred foods?

DS2 is 10 months are we are starting to phase them out b/c he refuses them half the time. But if your kid likes them and is still willing to eat them, then I see no reason to take them away if you don't want to.

Re: When did you stop jarred foods?

This is going to sound crazy but my dd is 2.5 and on top of all the regular food she eats, I still give her 1 to 2 pouches a day. She doesn't eat as many fruits and vegetables as I would like so I feel like the pouches are supplementing some of that. She will only eat apples, bananas, and green peppers willingly, but in a pouch she will eat any fruit or vegetable I give her.

Re: When did you stop jarred foods?

Thank you for this question!!

Christian LOVES the pouches. (I wish they made the organic one's with more veggies). For the past day or so he's refused to eat food (puree or table) off the spoon for some reason.

Are you giving him stage 3 or all difference stages?

Sole use of pureed foods, probably around a year. I continued to give him the pouches though for a while because it was a great way to get him to eat a variety of fruits and veggies on the go. I probably stopped with those around 2.

Re: When did you stop jarred foods?

We never used baby foods. Went straight to table foods at 6-7 months. They always ate whatever we ate.

I never used jars, but stopped making purees around 10 months or so in favor of table foods. My DD was (still is) a great eater and would eat any fruits/veggies put in front of her!

She preferred to self-feed so liked to puck up chunks vs using a spoon which was still hard for her at that age.
