When did you start...
Hi Ladies,
This is my first official month TTC, since the first month off BC I got pregnant and had a MC. DH and I have decided just to wing it for a bit, no temping, no charting, just using the calendar and me checking CM, and just lots and lots of  .
My question is how long did you wait before you started using those added methods of tracking? DH wants to wait 3 months before temping or using any fertility monitors...

I probably waited a couple of months, then started with OPKs, then temping. I was charting prior to TTC anyway to track AF so it wasn't as difficult to add that in.

When I first went off bc, we didn't try but didn't prevent for 3 months. The 4th and 5th month, I used OPK. This month, added temping to the picture.

We were in the "wing it" mentality for awhile then moved on to CBEFM and temping. On and off it's been 2 years. I never would have just been so nonchalant about it in the beginning if I had known it would have taken this long.

When did you start...
I started using the clear blue easy advanced fertility monitor right away. It tells you the days you are most fertile- this was my second month. I find it a very low stress way to identify ovulation. I know that charting and temping will cause my to stress over it.

When I tried with my first, just winging it didn't work. I guess maybe we weren't doing it enough. lol. But after 2 unsuccessful cycles I said screw it and purchased some OPK's and Preseed. Once I knew the correct day of ovulation, I got pregnant right away. (experienced some awful chemical pregnancies though, but did end up with a healthy beautiful daughter within the year)
Now that I'm ready to start trying for #2, I'm definitely going with OPK's again since ovulation can be deceptive. Sometimes all the symptoms will be there, but then I test and find I'm Oing days later.

We had one month of just winging it both times we ttc before I started using digital OPK's. They are simple and low stress for me, but still made me feel like I had a little more control over the process.

The very first month before we said we'll try.. we winged it, and it clearly did not work out. I ovulated later than I thought, even though I was charting my cycle. So I just bought the OPK to see when I ovulate and that's when I figured it out.

We did this also. It turned out the first month we winged it that I had a 27 day cycle when I normally have a 25 day cycle, so I o'ed later than I thought. After that (and seeing my first BFN), I decided to "step it up" a bit and I started using my CBEFM.

well with my first time ttc... i got preg on my HM, so that was the first time trying. Only it was a MC 2+ months later... SO once I got the OK to TTC again, I used the CBEFM and was a little nutty about getting back what i lost... so i was testing from early on with multiple methods.
Now i'm just doing Deanna's Plan along with the old information I learned about my body back in 2010. Well it's Deanna's Plan on crack!!!!

I'm in the same position although I am still awaiting my first visit from AF after stopping the pill. I am taking my temp every morning (which this time of year is a little off because of the change in the room temperature). IMO you need to track so you have months to look back on once you really. start trying. It doesn't hurt to do this.

That's our plan so far..... The thing all our parents and older family members say is that this is the "fun" part (the ) and I'm loving it. We haven't had this much since before we moved in together many MANY moons ago.
