Re: When did we all become so jaded
I agree.
As far as the parties go, I enjoy celebrating with my family and friends. I'd rather celebrate with them than complain about their celebration...that's for sure.

I'm sure the crowds will come hunt me down but anyone else feel like everyone is so jaded and everyone is out for something and everything is tacky
You throw a party you are asking for gifts
You celebrate big for a birthday, you are a show off
You donate to a go fund. You are a sucker
Call me naive but with all this hate and sometimes a real crappy world why do we have so many issues with celebrations
Oh Gina I am SOOOO with ya!!!

Re: When did we all become so jaded
I love this post!!
I love a good party! I adore baby and bridal showers (even the 4 hour ones lol!). I just love being with my family and friends no matter the reason. I also don't begrudge anyone anything, you want to set up a go fund me for your cats new rhinestone collar..lots of luck to you lol...I send my money to St. Jude but I dont let it bother me. Live and let live...

Because some people are just miserable and unhappy and spend much of their time looking for ANY reason to complain, be rude, or make everyone around else them just as miserable as they are. It's not just LIF, I see it IRL too, there are just some people that can't be happy for anyone else because they can't see past the misery/unhappiness in their own life.
Being 40 now I feel like I have more perspective on life, I realize what is important and I don't spend time stressing about silly little things like what kind of party someone is throwing, how big a gift I am *suppose* to give, whether or not someone is showing off, getting upset because someone posts happy things about their DH/kids/etc. on FB OR whatever else is going on out in the world. People should spend more time just trying to be happy with themselves and enjoy each day and less time worrying about what "everyone else is doing".
Life moves fast and it's all over in a blink, I don't want to waste time dwelling on silly things that don't matter in the grand scheme of it all. I just want to enjoy what I have, enjoy the people in my life, and enjoy every minute I get to be around breathing. Corny, but true.

Very well written. I completely agree! Life's too short to sweat the small stuff.
