yes yes yes this happened to my DH as well. I took him time to really comprehend what was happening. I think it wasn't until i started to show that he was like" whoa, ok this is really it".

I think it only started to sink in when we went for the Level II at 22 weeks and he saw the sonogram.

My DH was the same way ... he was excited and knew I was PG and all that, yet I don't think it fully hit him for some time into the pregnancy that hey, we were gonna have a baby!

When he came with me to the ultrascreen at 12 weeks (up until that point he wasn't at any of my sonos) and for the first time the baby really 'looked' like a baby - I think THEN it hit him, because I remember looking over at him and seeing that he was a little misty (Chat Icon)and from that point on, he seemed more 'into' it overall Chat Icon

I often feel DH isn't as into the whole pregnancy thing as he should be. I know he's excited, but he's also very nervous. Sometimes I think he's more concerned with how having a baby is going to affect him and his life than anything else. I love him dearly, but he can be very selfish. Chat Icon

Re: when did it sink it for DH?

I think it has sunk in for mine, the other day driving he told me, "I love this baby Jan, but I really love you. You feel the same right?"Chat Icon I think that shows that he knows it is real and is worried about his "position"

He has also began this whole cheap-a$$ campaign. He is starting to pennypinch like never before. That was a clue as well.
