When did/do you start really preparing

the following:

1) Sterilize bottles & pacificiers

2) Wash sheets, blankets, clothes

3) Pack hospital bag

4) Put in car seats

I'm just starting my 35th week and haven't done any of the above...should I start or wait a few weeks?

Thanks!

I'll be 37 weeks this Saturday and I think I'll pack my bag and install the car seat then. I'm going to wash some blankets and clothes for Chat Icon this weekend also.

I would sterlize and wash things slowly/now just so that you dn't come home with a baby and have to do it. You don't want to say "I'll do it at 38 weeks" you might not get 38 weeks..you could go early. The other stuff, you can hold out on. I packed a bag at 38weeks for my first child. The carseat was actually not installed until the day I was coming home!Chat Icon Mostly b/c at the time, we only had 1 seat and weren't sure which car! I figure I'll install the seat at 38/39 weeks just so it's there. DH would have me commited if I put one in his car early I think...his car is 2-door, so I'm NOT coming home in that! Chat Icon

I'm a few days shy of 39 weeks and this weekend we put the carseat in, clothes are washed and I washed all the bottles and nipples.

Re: When did/do you start really preparing

Well let's see, I've had my bag packed for a while and I've been washing clothes and towels in the past two weeks. We just put the car seat bases in the cars this weekend. I still haven't done bottles though. I fugure I don't want them sitting around for too long. I will probably just through them all on the hottest setting of my dishwasher when we get back from the hospital.

Re: When did/do you start really preparing

Thanks for the insight ladies I started thinking about this the other day - I have more time for sure but my house is a mess and I have to start organizing things now before I begin washing everything, etc....
