When are you supposed to stop sleeping on your back?
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and lI'm on my back. I freak out and turn over. I'm 19 weeks.

i think they say 20weeks...but i dont know if i will be abl to stop!! i start on my sides but always roll over to my back cuz im most comfortable that way!!
so weird cuz i never slept on my back before being pregnant!! i always slept on my side!!

My Dr said dont worry, if your comfortable that way then sleep on your back! I wouldnt stress about it at all!

I was going to post this same topic.
I thought I read 12 weeks.
I'm 13.5 weeks... and I am soo much more comfortable on my back. I always was even pre-pregnancy. I try hard to sleep on my sides but i end up rolling over to my back eventually. it's hard!!

My doctor said to sleep however I'm comfortable. Sometimes it's my back, sometimes it's my side.
I think he's more comfortable when I'm on my back though... I usually get lots of jabs and kicks when I sleep on my side... like I'm squishing him or something :P

Same thing with me!!! So weird!!! It's the only way I can fall asleep now!

There is no time when you're not supposed to sleep on your back anymore...or a certain side or whatever, and it bugs the crap out of me that some doctors still say this.
1- You can't help how you sleep.
2- You're not endangering the baby at all, the only person you'd make uncomfortable is yourself and when that happens, your body is going to wake itself up.
3- You get to a point in your pregnancy that you cannot sleep, period. Any which way you try it just doesn't happen. So if back is still comfortable for you then go for it. Listen to your body, that will tell you what's working and what's not.

I slept on my back until it got uncomfortable. Same goes for sleeping on my stomach. I'm 31 1/2 weeks now and it just started getting uncomfortable sleeping on my back........as well as everything else I do

My doctor only said to stop sleeping on my stomach around 24 weeks, but even that he said if I can find a comfortable position, do whatever works. (I can't... the baby makes me miserable any time I roll onto my stomach.) But he definitely didn't say there was anything wrong with back sleeping. He said if you become short of breath or dizzy, roll over. But you will know before that happens.

I am over 25w and I still sleep on my back - if I get uncomfy I turn to my side. I think the baby will let you know when you need to chang positions.
