What's with this 4 year old attitude?
Is it normal that my 4 year old dd has had such a major attitude problem lately? She's always been such a sweet, happy kid. And she still often is, but sometimes she drives me crazy with her mood swings and tantrums over really random things. Like she comes bouncing into the room on a pogo stick that makes a loud squeaky sound with every bounce, while wearing a sparkly mermaid costume. And then gets mad, furious!, that I looked at her. Um, of course I'm going to look at her, she's loud and sparkly DH thinks she's just trying to exert some control. I get it, but its so frustrating sometimes. Like when it's pouring and the baby is screaming in his car seat, but she insists on buckling her own carseat straps (which she doesn't actually know how to do). Please tell me this is temporary!

Same here. My DD has started to tell me that she can do whatever she wants.
I don't know where this little monster came from.

Re: What's with this 4 year old attitude?
Everyone told me about the terrible 2's and 3's...but nothing prepared me for 4. It was absolutely the hardest age and no one really warned me.
The good news is - 5 is awesome. I feel like at 4, they have the verbal skills but the social skills are still coming along....it's rough. I was also going through a lot, infertility-wise when my DD was 4, so add extra hormones into the mix and oofah....not a fun time.
