What's up with stores having no Christmas stuff left?
They can't wait to shove Christmas down our throats when it's not even Halloween.
Now, the week before, you can't find anything!
We went 2 weeks ago to Lowes for an outdoor thing. You would have thought Christmas was over.

I know, I hate it too. All I see now is signs for Christmas Clearance. I fukin hate retail!

What's up with stores having no Christmas stuff left?
I feel like this year they have definitely run out of things sooner than in the past. I was hoping to buy a few things after Christmas but doesn't look like there will be much to choose from

Because they put the shit out earlier and earlier every single year. So it's been out since like October and it gets bought up just be being out there longer.
They make you feel like you are delinquent and you should panic if you aren't done shopping and decorating by mid November.
This is all manufactured by retail.
In about 15 years Christmas will start with Labor Day. Just watch.

What's up with stores having no Christmas stuff left?
I also think stores are getting more hesitant to buy in large qty. Most people showroom - look in the stores but then buy online. I think retail is becoming a very risky business and stores are not willing to bank that items will sell through. In some cases I saw the opposite -- where a store was banking on something being a hit and has loads of the item piled high up to the ceiling and they are all still sitting there. It is sad.

There was.. Very little, but their was. A few weeks ago, Target had a larger than normal section just for Hanukkah.
I got at Bed, Bath & Beyond also.
Rite Aid had some too.

I think this is the case they are buying less stock because of online retail

Stores don't carry as much stock as they have in the past.. especially since a lot of ppl shop online these days.
I can tell you... I randomly went into Big Lots by my office yesterday and they did have some Christmas stuff .... Right next to the outdoor patio and garden items they are starting to display. REALLY!?! Jeez... can we get through Xmas first?

They already started! I went yesterday to buy some Christmas candy at the supermarket and there was only a little section, the rest was Valentine's candy including the hearts!!

It’s been that way for a few years - you can’t get outdoor decorations close to Christmas.
I did see a bunch of Hanukkah wrapping paper though but I live near a large Jewish community.

Actually the Valentine's stuff is usually out by this week.
I remember a few years ago I took a pic in Stop and Shop of the huge display and said- Christmas is over! And it was like the 15th or 20th

I was in Duane Reade 2 weeks ago & someone asked for something that was in the flyer & they were out and they said oh that is a Christmas item & we aren't receiving any more Christmas stock. They barely had anythigbn to begin with and wehn they did it was before halloween.
The Christmas section in Target was destroyed on Monday. I was just looking for ribbon. I don't know how you are supposed to buy that stuff on Black Friday when you don't know what you have to wrap yet.
I don't want to be someone who shops in November,but it seems like you have to be finished by the 2nd week of December in order to get anything Christmassy.

I couldn’t even find any festive shirts in target for my boys... girls had plenty boys nothing.... there were Valentine’s Day shirts though  seriously I know retail needs to be ahead but don’t they have back storage and can change stuff December 26?!? No one is out Christmas shopping and thinking let me get this for Valentine’s Day

This is exactly why brick and mortar stores are failing to online shopping.
Putting even Christmases stuff aside, I never shop in stores for clothes any more either. A store will have a few in each size and the commom sizes always sell out first. What a pain in the asss.
If I go online they have all colors and sizes in huge quantity and never an issue.
