I remember this all too vividly to this day.
I used to have a recurring dream as a child that my family and I were sitting in a waiting room in the middle of an open field. The chairs were set up in a big square and in the middle of the square, the ground would open, take a person down underground and somehow the life would be sucked from that person. They would reemerge translucent and that's how I would know they were now lifeless zombies.
I can still see the scene in my head. It was always so awful when I'd have that dream.

OMG! I will never ever forget this recurring dream I had. The block I grew up on, there was a park at the end of the block, and then the LIRR ran along the other side of the park. I used to have this awful dream that we'd all be at home and suddenly hear the train go off the tracks, and start coming down the block. the kitchen in my old house had two barstools, and I had two older sisters. and apparently the only safe place was on the stools... and i so vividly remember trying to jump up on a stool and they kept pushing me down. and the train would tear through the house... and i ran and ran but eventually... i guess it got me.

ok i just realized how insane that sounds lol

I had 2 reoccurring dreams grown up.

1. I would be chase through the woods. I'd climb up a tree and the person chasing me would fall and when I turned around to look who it was it was my dad but instead of a nose it was a carrot.

2. I would lay on the beach and then the sand became quicksand. I'd start to sink. Once my head would sink the view turned into an ant farm view and I'd watch myself sink into the water where a shark would eat me and spit out my bones.

I also thought my floor was the ocean and if ny feet dangled or I walked on it while the lights were off the sharks would eat my feet. And that's when I was awake!! I would jump from my bed to the door if I had to pee.

Anyone want to analyze me? LOL

i used to dream about being in a forest like in the wizard of oz and it was really dark and i'd be walking along and there would be one tree with red eyes coming out of it and even though I never saw it... everytime I had the dream I knew it was a werewolf and I'd run away.


this thread is fitting though because i had terrible nightmares last night.

The Wicked Witch of the West showed up in the middle of my room in her cloud of orange smoke.

I had that dream when I was six right after watching the Wizard of Oz.

I am not exaggerating when I say that I slept with the covers over my head until I was eleven.

Until this day, Im not even sure if it was a dream or not... I saw everything how I would in real life... my room, my parents, the furniture... everything was how it was... In my dream, I was lying in bed, looking at my parents down the long hallway we had and I could see them, but when I tried to talk to them, no words came out, I tried screaming and nothing either... I guess I was finally able to wake myself up, and everything was just how it was in the "dream"... My parents sitting there, but they said I was sleeping and never heard me very freaky...

I was probably older then a child, a teen. But I had a dream my dad was paralyzed. I do not remember a lot of dreams but this one sticks w/me and scared me to death

I was in elementary school. This scary dream hunted me for years.

I was in my school and a cut bloody pointer finger would follow me. Hide behind walls to look at me, on top of the stairs as we went to my classroom. It was always there.

I would wake up shaking in fear and it would take me hours to go back to sleep.

i dont remember any scary dreams but as a child (maybe 5-8years or so) I HAD to fall asleep facing the same side every night. I was convinced that if I didnt, I'd have a scary dream

I dreamed some guy kidnapped me from my bed and drown me and left me naked in a shallow creek behind my house and fish were flopping all over my body....still to this day I fear fish.

There was this movie I watched with my dad once where a creature could walk through walls and steal a girls breath, that scared the poop out of me.

Also for some reason as a kid I was terrified at the idea of the world coming to an end, that definitely kept me up at night.

I have had a reoccuring dream of being swept away by "THE BIG WAVE" since I was little. I now know it is called a Tsunami

When I was younger I had a dream that my grandmother was hit by a car...I remember in the dream, I kept saying there is that van again (kind of like the Eyewitness News van commercial - how you would always see it in the background). Such a vivid dream.

Exactly one week later, my grandmother was hit by a van and passed away a couple of days later from the accident

Dr. Tiffany Analysis.....your nuts J/K I use to jump onto the bed from the fear of the people underneath grabbing me and dragging me under.

Dr. Tiffany Analysis.....your nuts J/K I use to jump onto the bed from the fear of the people underneath grabbing me and dragging me under.

I used to run and jump onto my bed too for the same reason My brother new about this and hid under my bed one time. I must have hung my leg over the side enough for him to grab it and he pulled me right off my bed I was traumatized(sp?) for life. He $ucked!

Ive had this dream several times as a kid...

one of my best friends growing up was in a wheelchair... and we were on the boardwalk and some monster rose up out of the water and started chasing is...

my friends house was a few houses closer than my house ... only about a half a block from the beach so we were right at the entrance to her court and i pushed her inside to save her and i turned around and the monster was right behind me and was about to eat me...

so i crouched down and put my hands over my head and always as soon as the monster was about to bite me i would wake up...

the thing that i always thought was weird about this dream was that the monster had like human teeth... not sharp monster teeth... lol

anyway, i had this dream about a dozen times... im not dream analyser but i always thought there would be a situation where maybe i would have to save her life..

and a few times i probably did .... especially when we were in the ocean... being that shes paralyzed from the waste down it wasnt exactly a treat for her to be in the water... she had to wear a life vest... she has amazing upper body strength so she was a decent swimmer, but even her strength wasnt enough to deal with Atlantic Ocean currents...

I've always had this recurring dream since when I was a kid. The world has been taken over by zombies and my family and friends and I are trying to survive. Slowly, everyone gets picked off until it's just me and my dad left. Eventually, they catch up to us and my dad gets bitten and I kill myself. But there's a whole lot of details in there. It's a very long dream. In fact, I've had it so often now that I can usually see the end coming so it doesn't upset me as much anymore.

another dream was about my sisters kids... they were my only niece and nephews at the time of this dream... and we were at some water park...

i think it was Action Park... anyway, we go down the slide that opens into a big pool... when we got to the end of the slide, it opened up into a sewer not the pool... and i was only able to save 2 of the 3 kids...

it wasnt so much scary as it was upsetting... it still makes me upset to think of it to this day...
