What's the next step in this potty training business?

Ok so Maddie has been pretty much been peeing everytime DH and I have put her on the potty but she is still having wet diapers so we are not catching everytime. She has yet to let us know on her own that she has to go. It's something we have to suggest or she let's us know after the fact(she loves to announce that she's pooped now, Chat Icon) Is this something that can be taught or will she eventually just "get it"?

Advice from a failed potty trainer...

I would just try her in big girls knickers and let her wet herself a couple of time, she will start to associate that wet feeling with the feel of a full bladder. You might have a few days/weeks or her wetting herself, but its a start. Ask her every 20 minutes or so, do you need a weewee?

Give it a week or so, just dive right in! Good luck!

I agree, go right to underwear. Worked for my son, he was trained in less than 3 days - fully!

I haven't attempted it yet with my DD since she is screaming and very fearful of the potty for some reason. Chat Icon So we have backed off for a little while and will visit it again in another month or two.
