What's the general average hourly rate you pay a babysitter (for one baby, if that matters)?

I have 2 kids but I'll answer. I have 2 sitters, one is $13 an hour and the other is $15. Both are older one is 25 and the other is 22 or 23

I paid $12 an hour for 2 kids in NY. Up here I pay the same rate (sitters are very young though) and I am told that I overpay

I paid $10 for one kid and now pay $15 for two (for a college age sitter who works at DCs daycare).

My babysitter is my neighbor and a freshman and charges 5$ and is amazing. However, my other neighbor and I tell her she is nuts. That is what we got in HS. So we each pay her closer to 10. If she babysits for an hour only we give her like 15 to 20 dollars. If it is for several hours it is more like 8$ to 10$.
ETA: My neighbor and I use her and we each only have one kid.

when we used a daycare person for babysitting it was $10/hr...
my mother use to charge people $12-15 depending on the # kids.
ETA- NY minimum wage is like $7.25 now...

I pay the 15yo next door $8/hour and my regular sitter gets $10/hour (she watches DS while we are at work)

$10 hour for 2 kids, but I pay her for an extra hour when she babysits, so it works out to $12-15 an hour

We have never paid for a a babysitter because we can always find a family member to babysit.
However, one of DS's daycare teachers offered to babysit for $5/hr if we ever needed it.

I generally give between $12-$15 an hour to our sitter (She is 22) depending on what time she comes to the house.
If she plays with DS, feeds him dinner and put him to bed, it's $15 and if she basically comes to the house around 7 and put him to bed within the hour, we give $12.
