What would you put in this spot? (Pics)
Here's some pics of our living room. Aside from outlet covers and window treatments (yeah those are redi-shades), we need something to go in the corner to the right of the fireplace.
What do you think?

Are you against more seating? I would put a comfy armchair with ottoman...maybe something with a bit of a design/pattern to liven up the room.

my dh is against more seating. he'd be happy leaving the corner empty but i think it's too bare. would it be weird to have just an ottoman minus the chair?
the shelf is an interesting idea too.
oh i should mention, those two table lamps are the only lights in the room, so it's kinda dark at night...

What about two bookcases flanking the fireplace? If you don't want to add additional furniture maybe just a tall vase with faux branches or pus*y willows.

what a pretty room. I would put a nice big potted indoor (live) plant in the corner. I think every room needs a plant/greenery

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I was thinking about a plant of sorts. The space is not that big and it's also not our main TV watching area (like if DH was having guys over for the game or something they'd go in the basement where the larger tv and bar is).

I would do a plant too. You can get a can light to put behind the plant for some uplighting

I wouldn't put a plant there if you plan on using the fireplace...but you can get some little plants and put them on these shelves?

I have these in my living room corner. They are from IKEA and I put them in a very large metal vase.
(they look way better untied IMO)

I like the idea of flanking the fireplace with bookcases. I think whatever you do, it has to be symmetrical.
