i dont think i could live near wires like this. I have family that lives in Hauppauge near those wires and while they have all been fine, i think it would be something that i always worry about in the back of my head.

We passed up on a nice house here in NC for the same reasons. You just never know!!! Better safe than sorry! JMO!!!

My parent's house is right on top of the LIPA rightaway and knock on wood, we haven't had any trouble. Don't know if that's the same type of wires though.

it realy depends on how close the wires actually are
As i am looking at houses i am noticing where BIG high powered Lines are...Mostly north of the LIE
I looked at a hosue that was across the street from them...
wouldn't buy it
