My &^&%%$$^(% shoes. They weren't crazy expensive, probably 100 or so, but I took them off every second I got...sooo painful! I wanted sneakers, but mom fought it.

My ring bearer's pillow. It was $68. It matched my dress and I loved it. I don't even think my stupid little cousin gave it back to me either!

Re: What was your biggest wedding rip-off?

This is easy. My day of coordinator.

I thought I needed a "professional" to keep everything organized. She tells me that her associate (think the curly haired girl in the movie The Wedding Planner), would be assisting me on my wedding day, not her, and this assistant looked like a deer in headlights. She did nothing that the maitre'd couldn't have (or actually did) done himself.
....and they charged me $1500 which was a 50% discount because I worked in the catering business. Biggest waste of time, money, and energy.

I think DH and I did a good job prioritizing what we wanted and needed.

Re: What was your biggest wedding rip-off?

A lot of "wedding things" are a rip off....so most things I did I made myself (favors, unity candles, pew bows, invitations, etc) or searched and compared prices. I paid a lot for my BQ too,,,but it was worth every penny! I loved it, it lasted long after the wedding (since we did no go on honeymoon right after we enjoyed it) and it looks great in photos!

Re: What was your biggest wedding rip-off?

I'm going with my photographer. I specified that I wanted lots of candids, photo journalistic style and SO many shots were missed completely (not one pic of me with my flowergirl!) and the posed shots were not a smidgen creative when I had even e-mailed them examples of what I wanted.

That's what I get with going with a friend of the family

Re: What was your biggest wedding rip-off?

I paid to have a larger size dress which I was told I needed just to have to pay extra to have it taken in a lot. So the dress shop ripped me off by $250.

Re: What was your biggest wedding rip-off?

My wedding was less than 4 months ago and there's nothing that I would call a rip off. I would change a vendor but it wouldn't be less money.

I have to say the make up. My sister could've done it for me, for free.
Everything else, I was pretty happy with.

I don't think anything for my wedding was a rip-off. Not one, single thing.

Re: What was your biggest wedding rip-off?

The florist who did my reception flowers. My practice cp's were gorgeous, but when I walked through my hall and saw what they had did I cried and was embarrassed to say the least. I also paid an additional $500 for rose garland to decorate my & DH table and they never did it. Several phone calls and visits and was never resolved. I wouldnt place this florist on a "pedestal"Chat Icon

I don't feel I was ripped off in the slightest. Since I had event experience, I was pretty sure I had the best prices.

I do wish I went with a different hairstyle & different photographer.

Re: What was your biggest wedding rip-off?

My florist was one of the budget ones from LIW, but my sister's bouquet was a joke. Mine looked good in pics but was not at all what we decided on. But I just let it go.

The DOC was a waste- one of the main jobs she had to do was put the bows on the pews that I made- she didn't even un-crinkle them and had them on various rows. They looked like crap.

My photographer missed SO many of my must takes. I am finally over it but it took forever.

My flowers.

I hired someone I knew through work (we deal with florists on a regular basis).

He gave me no deal and my BoK's were less perfectChat Icon Plus my centerpieces were sorta sparse.
