When you got home from the hospital with your bundle of joy?

When they say the baby eats every 2 hours, do they mean *every* 2 hours? So, when do *we* sleep?
(This probably wasn't the *first* thought, but it was definitely an early thought...   )

I thought "how am I going to take care of this tiny, precious baby?"...then I started to cry...that went on for 2 weeks then I got a hold of myself.

I wish both of them were coming home together.
Second, holy @#$% my house feels so big... it felt like my insides were still jiggling around so walking even from room to room was

"This is pretty easy." When we first came home, he was napping in his crib and I was unpacking my hospital bag. Things got much tougher later that evening!

my son came home on Oxygen...so I just kept saying "how the hell am I going to do this? What if he stops breathing"

"He's home! He's home! Um, now what?" followed immediately by thoughts of "they let me take him home without an instruction booklet?"
With Maddie it was more how exhausted I was. It was only later when looking at pictures did I notice that I'm carrying my bags, her in the car seat & holding Joseph's hand.

I was thinking a million different things.
I was thinking I needed a real shower in my bathroom.
I was thinking of how I hoped DD would latch and nurse successfully (which it took 3-4 weeks and a few sessions with an LC for that to happen).
I was thinking of whether or not the cats would be jealous
I was thinking of how weird it felt to be home after 5 days (I had a 2 1/2 day labor process)
The first thing I thought of on the car ride home, though, was what are we going to do at home without the 24-hour nurse staff to help us??????
