For a band: Jesus and Mary Chain with Mazzy Star in 1994 at the Academy in NY. IT was such a small venue it was so good.
For a DJ: all Paul van Dyk sets at Casino (now closed  ) but in particular his set in December 2003. So amazing. Love parade's Fight the power in Berlin July 2004 was pretty amazing too.

Lenny Kravitz at Jones Beach. He was great, the crowd was great (especially the guys behind us who kept giving us cups of rum and coke). The weather was perfect and I was with people I loved.

Oh my god ! I've always wanted to see him & am so mad that he doesn't tour anymore !!
There are just no words to describe it - I hope he tours again and I'm almost positive that he will but when he does - GO, no matter what you have to do - get ANY ticket you can get!!! He was absolutely fantastic to the point that I swore no matter how many times he comes around I will see him EVERY single time.
It is amazing, and you don't really think about it until you are there, how great his voice is -- his energy and his ability to perform like that - to that level - and consistently is unbelievable - i mean, he's a pretty big guy - not in perfect shape, prob doesn't work out and the things he can do - he can really move - it's just unreal.
The energy, the songs, the amount they put into each show - and not just him but every single person on stage - the heart that is in the music - A M A Z I N G!!!!

U2 MSG October 27, 2001. At the MSG show they invited FDNY and NYPD up on the stage it was a great show.
We were at that show too, DH is FDNY, but I bought the tix thru my job. I bawled when they rolled all the victims names on the screens

Starsailor at Irving plaza-small venue, great show but also Smashing Pumpkins at Radio city up front was awesome!!

Justin Timberlake for sure or any of the many Tori Amos concerts I've been too....and I also loved The Cranberries back in the day

ALL TIME FAVORITE:
Paul McCartney - MSG
Paul McCartney - Nassau Coliseum
Paul McCartney - opening AlamoDome
MSG - it was just great music and great to watch, I was dying
Nassau - LOVE that Paul never has an 'opening act' and this opener was freaky cool on the line of cirque de soleli
AlamoDome - Saved all my money working at McDonald's to buy tickets to this last minute tour stop made by Paul. It was my very first ever concert. I was a senior in High School and I took my Dad. 47,000 people singing Hey Jude was indescribable.
Second -
Santana - Sunken Gardens, San Antonio, TX
Just before Supernatural and $25, I was way up front right at the stage for a long time, then sat back on a grassy hill listening to Black Magic Woman thinking "This is so awesome" It was open seating and in a sunken garden so the acoustic was awesome

Best overall: Spandau Ballet - The RDS, Dublin, 1984.
Best 1980's: U2, Croke Park, Dublin 1987
Best 1990's: Garth Brooks - Croke Park, Dublin 1997. I'm not a fan and happened to get tickets from a customer. He was REALLY good.
Best 2000: The Police - MSG, 2007

Very hard for me between Metallica (pre 93) and Rush and Phish but I'm going to go with Phish 12/30/97 at MSG since it was my first of 40. I never saw them do Harpua again.
