What to feed an infant with a stomach virus?
My 7 month-old DS got a bad stomach virus last night...I haven't slept all night because he was throwing up every 20 minutes.
So, here's a question--do I keep giving him his formula (milk-based)? He seems like he's starving, but I can't help but think that all that milk is going to sour his stomach again.
Just looking for some input...thanks!!!

Start with pedialyte. We did one ounce every 30 minutes.
When he kept that down - we diluted formula until we were sure he could handle the full strength. DS had problems with milk based formulas as he was getting better so we gave him Similac Sensitive.
ETA - I would call your ped as well.

No milk. That makes it worse. Water, pedalyte, juice.
Brat diet. Banana rice applesauce, toast. Keep it light. Hope he feels better.

They sell pedialite ice pops too. Those can be refreshing.

Re: What to feed an infant with a stomach virus?
DD is 9 months and had it a few weeks ago. She wasn't throwing up, but had diarrhea. She didn't have much of an appetite, but I just gave her plain oatmeal and offered her the bottle (she would take about 3 oz) Lasted about a day and a half.
I haven't given her juice yet so I didn't give her that, and gave her water but she really doesn't drink much of it.
When she got her appetite back I gave her banana and apple fruits to start.

pedialyte and water. Call up the ped's office they'll tell you what to give, We had to give DD the acidopholus(sp?) since she had it coming out of both ends.

Re: What to feed an infant with a stomach virus?
My DD had the virus at 6 months and the ped said to keep her on her regular formula and to offer her pedialyte but not stress if she didn't take it. (She hated it- it tastes disgusting)
They said to try the BRAT diet, but DD was refusing all solids that whole week she had it- so it was hard to get anything in her.
They said that as long as she was drinking her formula though, and having wet diapers, not to worry too much about the pedialyte or the solids.
