What to expect at the first appt.?

I'm so sorry for all the questions. All my information is from what I am reading since we have decided not to tell anyone until we are further along.

So I have a doctor appt next Tuesday. I think I am about 7wks along...what can i expect from this appt?

if you havent been to the gyn in about a year or so, a pap and breast exam

also, bloodwork, internal sono, lots of Q&A, weight, BP, urine etc

Can the internal sono tell me anything? Like heartbeat or anything...or is it too early?

I just don't feel preggo except for my boobs feeling more dense and swollen...not really painful. I just feel like something is not right.

The internal sonogram will be able to let you see probably the baby with a sac around it (depending how far along you are) and you may be able to see the heart flickering

ETA i had very few symptoms. early on I had some AF like crampling and sore boobs for a few days, then that all went away and I have had a great pregnancy since. I never got MS.

Mine was at 6 weeks 4 days...they did an internal and all we saw was a thumping little spec which was the heart beat. And my Dr drew blood.

Mine was too early for the HB, but my Dr. did an internal to make sure the pregnanyc was in my uterus.

Before that DH and I had to answer questions about our medical history and our family's. Blood pressure and weight.

After all of that, we sat down with the Dr. to talk about getting bloodwork done and some other information about the hospital the baby will be delivered at and some other hand outs.

If you are going next week and you think you are 7 weeks now, you probably will see the HB and a lil baby nugget Thats what we saw at our first appt. and I was 8 weeks. I had an internal and since I had just gone for my yearly checkup thats pretty much all they did

I didn't get an internal sono until my second appointment. The first appointment is similar to an annual exam. The take blood, pee in a cup, breast exam and pap. They will give you prenatals or samples, depending on your office.

My Ob/GYN bills it to the insurance company as an annual exam so you don't have to pay anything. The next appointment is for the internal sono at 8 weeks or so.
