what to expect at 1st appt
Hi ladies I have my 1st appt today and I'm sitting at work so nervous! What should I expect? I know I will be having a sono but don't know anything else! I'm about ten weeks please help!

My first appointment, they made me pee in a cup, took my blood pressure, and took about 6 vials of blood. The OB came in and met with me and DH, did my yearly pap (I was due for it in July, and this was May, so it was close enough he wanted to get it done right away), and did an internal sono. During the sono, we saw the baby (there's pics in my album -- see the 8 weeks one) and the sac that was already nearly gone (by 10 weeks, yours may be gone already), as well as saw and heard the heartbeat.
Since my cycles were very irregular, he gave me an E.D.D. based on the baby's measurements at that appointment.
After we were done in the exam room, my OB (this was our first meeting ever) had me and DH go back to his office and sat with us and talked for about 15 minutes. He answered all the questions we had, gave us a huge "goody bag" full of prenatal samples and other information with FAQs, info about the hospital he delivers at, and some other various things.
Have fun today!!! It's an amazing experience!!!

At my first appointment I was only about 4 weeks. They did a pap, breast exam, urine sample and took blood to check my betas. They also did a sonogram but didnt see anything at that point.
My next appointment was at 8 weeks and I had an internal sono where we saw and heard the heartbeat They also took like 10 viles of blood and my dr. went over the do's and don't's of pregnancy. The nurse also asked us a whole bunch of questions about our medical history.

thats exactly what they did at my first appointment... it was at about 5 weeks
ETA: they did a pap and also took cultures at this appointment...
