What style fridge do you prefer?

We are looking to buy a new fridge. We currently have a basic top freezer model.

I want something with at least an ice maker. But, my question is:

What style fridge/freezer do you have and what are the pros/cons?

My mom has a bottom freezer that pulls out like a drawer and I HATE it. I feel like she can't get very much in there and stuff is always falling out.

I am looking at side by side or top freezer or any other suggestions.

I had a freezer on the bottom and now have a side by side. I hate my side by side fridge because of the freezer. The freezer has no space and I find it so hard to organize. For example, you can't get a frozen pizza in there. So annoying! Of the two, I would prefer the freezer on the bottom.

I have a freezer on the bottom and hate it. I feel like I can't fit anything in it and have to dig through everything to get to stuff ont he bottom. Makes it difficult to see what I have in there, what I'm out of, etc.

I like french door w/freezer on the bottom.

But I dont keep many frozen foods. So it's not an issue for me.


side by side.... you really dont have much space on either side. Id stick with freezer on top out of both of those.

French Door with extra fridge draw. We use extra draw for fresh meats, smaller things that get used first. As for the freezer on the bottom, i think its the space, just digging down into it vs moving the stuff in the front out of the way to get items.

My problem with side by side, is the width. You are not fitting bigger platters, etc.. in it, imo

I HATE my side by side. Before this I had a freezer on the bottom that I loved.

I have the freezer on the bottom. I have a side by side and the only down side that I can see is that seomthign wide will not fit in (ice cream sheet cake) but we have a old frig/freezer in the garage so its not an issue for us.

I like to be able to see everything where in a bottom freezer drawer I feel like tings get buried.

We used to have a side by side and I hated it - couldn't fit anything in it. I don't like top freezers because I'm short and can't reach anything in the back. I have the three door French door but would prefer the four door (they didn't make it when I bought my fridge). My fridge is almost 30 sq ft and fits so much. Only thing I'd change is the fourth door, which is actually a drawer. I have no problem with digging for things in the freezer drawer because it's easier digging in that than in a top freezer.

I love my side by side. I have all of my frozen stuff organized on each shelf and can surprisingly fit a lot in there.

I have a top freezer and i like it a lot. My parents and in laws have the french doors with the freezer on the bottom but i dont really like them. Their freezers look like a mess to me and they have to move stuff out of the way to pull out the drawers inside the freezer.

Ok. I think I am just going to stick with the top freezer. I really do need the room and the side by side sounds like it would limit me from say.. putting a ziti in there.

I hate my mom's bottom freezer. we feel like we get much less into it because once your shove stuff in your have to close it. I freeze a lot.

We have freeezer on the bottom with drawers. We are in a co-op so our kitchen ison the smaller side. The fridge could be bigger so I do have a problem finding things .

mY brother has French door top with 2 huge drawerson the bottom and I just love it! They are so big and have slide drawers within the drawers, so it's so easy to find things.

I've had three side by sides in a row.
The fridgidaire gallery we bought last year is deeper than any I've ever had. So I can fit large trays of food with no problem.
The freezer is a good size as well. I don't store a lot of frozen food so the fridge was more important to me. We have an extra fridge/ freezer in our basement for big trays of food, parties, ect but I've had it unplugged since we bought this fridge last year because I don't have a problem fitting stuff anymore.

I have a side by side and i'm not really a fan since its hard to fit a lot of stuff. When the time comes that I need to replace it, I will probably go with the freezer on bottom.

We have a french drawer with freezer on the bottom style fridge. I love it. Our freezer has two levels and both have adjustable dividers. I am able to fit a lot into it and things don't get lost. I am very happy with this style. I grew up with side by side and I would never get it because you never have room for anything - I like to entertain. I also had a top freezer but don't prefer it as I use the fridge more than the freezer.

thought i would hate french door and loved side by side... now that we got a french door with freezer on the bottom... I LOVE IT!

I couldn't wait to get my french door fridge because I love the way they look. I have not had any real problems but I sometimes miss my top freezer. I think it was easier to find and organize things. My parents have a side by side and I hate it. They have to put all the big stuff in a different freezer in the basement.

What style fridge do you prefer?

I have a side by side and we would be screwed if we didn't have an additional fridge in the garage for wider things. I also use it for bulk freezer storage.
