what meat does your child eat?

What meat does your child eat, and how old are they? Dd is 5, always been a picky eater, eats absolutely NO meat at all and I guess I’m just wondering comparably what kind of meat other kids eat. Tia.

DS (9)- burgers, chicken, bacon (just recently), taco meat.

DD (7)- burgers, hot dogs, chicken, bacon, sausage, meatballs, tacos

DD 4- burgers, hot dogs, chicken ((eats fish))

DS 2- everything lol

I truly love summer, bc they all eat grilled chicken, so dinner is actually simple lol.


ETA- I will say my oldest basically only ate chicken for years and nothing else.. he slowly started adding other meat into his diet. I’d say around 7, he started to try things without complaining. And to add they all eat filet mignon.

None. I can very, very occasionally get her to eat a piece of chicken cutlet. She's 2.

ETA: I never took to meat as a child either and don't eat a ton of it now so I don't really push it on DD.

All of my kids like steak, pork chops, chicken, ground beef, ham

My oldest, he is 6, likes shrimp

None of them like turkey, bacon, or sausage

At least they are all on the same page lol

My twins are 14 months, they eat all meat, only thing they haven’t had is shellfish. I don’t make any meat spicy so they can eat but they will have anything

My almost 6yo is extremely picky. As a toddler she liked ham, sausage, chicken nuggets and mini meatballs but hasn't touched them in years. She used to looove fish sticks with a squeeze of lemon but stopped eating them about a year ago. Currently the only meat she eats is hot dogs.

My 3yo likes bacon, sausage, chicken nuggets, hot dogs. Once in a while she'll try ground beef. She recently downed several servings of roast chicken bc were dog sitting and she saw how much the dog loved my chicken lol.

My almost 4 year old eats poultry and that’s it. Occasionally she will have a piece of regular bacon or breakfast sausage but it’s rare.

My almost 5 yr old eats pretty much all types of meat, but he def went through phases where he just refused to eat meats, I remember even joking about him becoming a vegetarian lol!!! My 2 yr old is now going through that phase but based on his older brother, I’m pretty sure this phase will pass too. I believe the key is to continue offering a variety of meats (among other food) so when they finally come around, they’ll be willing to at least give it a try.

My kids are super picky. My ds is almost 4 and eats no meat. My dd is 6 and eats hot dogs, meatballs, chicken cutlets, chicken nuggets, and bacon. She will also eat pepperoni on her pizza. I'm trying to get her to try what my husband and I have for dinner, since she has been a little more open to things lately. I am totally in the rut of cooking them separate food. Now if this was about vegetables it would be basically zero for both. Ughh when does this picky stage end?!

Don’t know how much meat kids need...

Mine are either eating meat or veg (mostly green vegetables: spinach, kale, broccoli, asparagus), so they alternate between complaining about the meat or veg. We don’t offer rice, bread or pasta with our dinners because that’s all the kids would eat if given the choice and they get it for lunch or at school.

But they eat all types of meat. One prefers meat balls, the other prefers steak, all eat fish (salmon, flounder, snapper), pork (they love pulled pork and pork loin and it’s easy to make) and chicken (they love whole roasted chicken).

They are 2,6, & 7. We had a picky phase with each and it passed. We make a healthy dinner a big priority. We do no snacks before dinner, no dessert, don’t force them to eat, but do force them to try the food and then don’t offer anything else. Eventually, the picky phase has passed for us. When super picky, we offer 2 vegetables like corn and asparagus so that they at least get 1 thing they will eat.

Ground beef/turkey made into burgers or taco meat (she used to eat meatballs and meatloaf but now refuses), chicken cutlets and ham. She won’t even try steak or pork.

Probably others that I forgot about.

mine are 4 and 7. they both eat chicken and pork chops (if we tell them its chicken HAHAHA), ground beef (as taco meat, burgers, meatloaf), a few bites of steak if its not too "chewy" LOL they'll also eat the meat inside of chinese won tons and dumplings (i think thats ground pork...)
DS 2 will eat cold cuts/lunchmeat like ham and turkey, but DS 1 doesn't like those.
DS 2 will also eat some seafood (crab cakes, salmon, shrimp) but DS 1 doesn't

DD is 7 and eats hamburger (on occasion), chicken fingers and chicken nuggets and that's it.
Oh and bacon and pepperoni.
No other meats at all.

Except on occasioin she will eat a turkey and cheese or chicken and cheese cold cut sandwich.

She is a very very picky eater.

I joke she's on the reverse Atkins diet... all carbs, very little meat/protein.

My girls are 5 and 7. My 7 year old eats pretty much any type of meat we give her beef, pork, chicken, turkey. My 5 year old will eat chicken and turkey and sometimes a hamburger. My little one is less picky than my older one with every other food other than meat. She eats so many vegetables and my oldest one will only eat broccoli. It’s so frustrating.

Depends on the day and how it is prepared

Always: Hot dogs, bacon, turkey pepperoni, all cold cuts, meatballs (turkey or beef) chicken nuggets, tacos, meatloaf, shredded chicken

Sometimes: steak, chicken prepared other ways, chili

Never: hamburger, most seafood

The only beef my kids will eat is in meatballs and only the ones from Trader Joe's.

They will eat most poultry - turkey and chicken prepared most ways. They eat fish. They aren't super in to meat, neither am I so I don't worry about it.

4 1\2 and he eats pretty much anything... turkey (deli meat and turkey meatballs) , deli ham, beef (burgers, tacos, meatballs, steak), lamb gyros, all types of chicken.... he’s a little guy too

Oh hot dogs, bacon, and salami too.

DS 2 will eat hot dogs and breaded chicken products.

Depends on the day but my kids eat almost everything. Steak, Burgers, meatball, chicken, turkey cold cuts, ham, they loveee bacon and the little one loves sausage. At school they even eat fish patty (whatever the heck that is lmao) I say just keep offering it. Maybe one day she will try it, maybe one day she will like it, and maybe she won't. Kids are weird. LOL As long as she is healthy and not lacking nutrients I wouldn't drive myself crazy over it. Will she eat beans? The little one loves beans!!

PS they are not sitting down and having steak dinners but a few bites is a win... maybe she will eat more of it if she only hasta have a few bites?

DS#1 - age 9 no meat - just started eating bacon
DS#2 - age 8 mcdonalds chicken nuggets is the only meat he eats
DS #3 - age 4 chicken, meatballs, started to taste hamburgers, fish sticks, and pork chops, sausages, hot dogs, ham, bacon and beef stew
DS#4 - chicken nuggets, chicken stew, and beef stew, and ham

We have a wide range in our house - I am hoping they will eventually grow out of it, but older ones do not like to try new things ugh
