What is your relationship with your boss?
Just another random topic.
I'm in the Great category. I've been to my boss's house a couple of times, we've gone on fishing trips, etc. Not a BFF by any means, but we definitely have a good rapport at work, and we socialize outside of work every once in a while.

Re: What is your relationship with your boss?
I have been working with my boss through 3 different companies on and off since 2003. He would leave a company and eventually make me an offer to come to the next company. I think the longest we have been apart is a year at a time while he would wait for non competes to run out since it's always the same industry so you are going to competitors when you leave.
He even hired me at 7 months pregnant at our current company. Everyone thought he was nuts...but he knew that I would be coming right back after having my DD and he knew I wasn't going to screw him over.
We are definitely friends and very familiar with each other, our personality quirks, work habits, personal life.
We drive each other nuts- like an old married couple- and sometimes we fight like cats and dogs- but I trust him and he has my back like nobody else. He will always go to bat for me when it comes time for raises and promotions, and he trusts me with the ins and outs of our business.
So overall - though I sometimes hate him like no other - I'd say we have a great relationship

What is your relationship with your boss?
My old boss and I got along great. She probably became one of my closest friends by the time she left here. Since then I feel like I've been thrown around from one person to another. My main boss is fine. We get along and there have been no major issues. It's definitely not the same though.

My boss of 12 years just left but our relationship was/is great. I consider him a mentor and close personal friend. I worked with his wife prior to coming to work for him and we were good friends as well so our families socialize. I miss him at work

What is your relationship with your boss?
I work in an environment where the managers rotate every 5 years. It's a Japanese company. I've had some winners and a whole bunch of losers that I can't wait to see go.
My current manager is rotating out. We had a good relationship, he was a trainee with me 12 years ago and came back as my boss. The new manager was here 5 years ago and I worked with him as well when I started in this new department. The new general manager rotating in, I know him for over 20 years, worked with him in the grain trading business while he was stationed in Brazil.
As long as they leave me alone and let me do my work, I'm fine. I don't need to be micromanaged.

What is your relationship with your boss?
My boss is good friends with DH. Makes for an interesting relationship lol. I knew him very slightly before I started working here, but we've developed a good relationship over the past 2 1/2 years that I've worked for him. I'm sure the fact that he and DH are good friends has actually helped me develop a good relationship with my boss (although there have been 1 or 2 times that I wanted to kill DH for talking about me/my job to my boss - nothing major, but just stuff I would have rather left unsaid. And, it makes it hard to call in sick when I really just want to take the day off lol). Since I have started working here, we have had my boss and his family over for BBQs and a few other social events - and it really hasn't been strange at all. We've made it work for all of us.

Re: What is your relationship with your boss?
I just got my 3rd boss in 2 years and only my second male ( and while I have no problem with him I am not a big fan of him. I know he tries to mean well but he does things that rub me the wrong way.
One thing particularly is time off. Not once since he became my boss has he ever just let me take time off without questioning it and asking me to change it. Tells me I need to be available during my time off. Its frustrating and stressful and I am pretty sure against policy. The best is how he preaches balance between work and family life.
I have been with the company for 13 years and never had any issues.
My first boss and who was my boss up to about 3 years ago was the best loved her. She still works for the company and I wish she was still my boss. We were close and she came to my bach party.

I have three bosses and we get along really, really well. There is a very good balance and I feel comfortable around them. I know I'm really lucky - it's a large part of why I love my job!
