Tonight he refused the hamburger DH BBQ'd so he had a Stonyfield Farms Vanilla Yogurt, Strawberries, and a cheese stick.

Guess I am the mean Mom, there is NO backup. Either you eat what is put in front of you, or you don't eat. My girls, know that there are no options and they are both awesome eaters.
I'm the same way and DS is turning 9 mths in a week. If he doesn't want what I give him, there is another meal in a few hours plus me gets snacks during the day. My DH is a very picky eater and refuse to have a son like that. I'm not a short order cook and I don't run a diner. lmao
