What is wrong with some people????!!!!! Halloween related.
I have these neighbors that live behind me. We are cordial to each other but not friendly. The wife seems nice..its more the DH that seems a bit abbrassive...
ANYWAY...
Last year when we were trick or treating, the kids were about to go their house and the people across the street from them said (very nicely) not to go to the house across the street b/c, due to religious beliefs, that didnt celebrate Halloween. So we didnt....now mind you the house wasnt decorated BUT the front door was open, the porch light was on, and the indside light was on. We all felt that they should kind of turned off the porch light BUT it wasnt any of our business....
Move on to yesterday...
Again another Halloween and once again this house is all lit up..with the front door open....We tell our kids not to go to the house. BUT there are other kids coming from the other direction and we didnt have time to tell the mommies to tell these LITTLE kids 4/5/6 year olds not to go to the house...so the kids go to the door and this guy comes to the door..I dont know what exactly he said BUT all the kids come away from the door crying..hysterical crying...last I saw mom was yelling at the guy from the street!!!!!
Did I mention that this guy is a teacher???
What is wrong with people???? Believe in what you believe in but dont yell at little kids on Halloween!!!!!!

That is seriously f-ed up. Let kids have some fun on Halloween.
I would have went up there and gave him a piece of my mind for making my kid cry.

Thats Horrible... what a big @zz that guy is.. Go out for the night or put a sign on door asking not to ring... Dont make little ones cry.. this is there holiday and let them enjoy it..

WOW, how can you do that to little children. I'm sure some of the father's will go back and say something to him.
Seriously, why wouldn't he make it seem like he wasn't home. When it was late last night and I wanted to put my DD to bed, I turned off the outside light, shut the door and I shut one of the interior lights off. I just wanted to make it clear that I was closed for the night.
And this was around 9 pm, so most of the kids went home by then anyway.

I like having a porch light on at all times, just for safety reasons, but you could very easily put a sign up. It would take less time to write "Do not ring bell, or knock. We will not answer the door.", or something, then it would be to answer the door even once.
