What is wrong with people?!!

The post about Danielle just makes me so sad. As someone who lost their brother to a drunk driver I just don't get why ANYBODY would drink and drive!!!! Do they really just not give a sh!t that they might kill someone? Ken has a little boy who may never seen his dad again because two a$$holes just didn't care about anyone but themselves Sorry to rant but I can't believe this is happening again.

I AM 100% right their with you!!!!!! I really want to start something now for the family and not later. either way this may go they will need the help and the sooner we do something to help them the better

It is really bothering me too. We need to have much stricter sentences for drunk drivers, more like the sentence that guy who killed the little girl and the limo driver. Maybe then people would get it through their heads!!! It is just too much already. How can people be so stupid and selfish to put others lives at risk?!!! It really boggles my mind!! What the hell is wrong with these people??

i heard on the news that in suffolk i believe that after 1 dwi they will put that detector in the car before they can drive , i am sorry but that should have been done along time before all this. they have had it for many of years but only used it for those who had many dwi's.

I am really angry about this stuff as well, that us good people pay the price for the law breakers, those who have no regard for human life, police, etc...

In all our threads that are debates about the police and what they do right/wrong, I know Dani, along with many of us, would stand by the police's side and always talk of how they are so selfless, they risk their lives to save the same people who do nothing but criticize them.

So I am extremely angry for HER and her family and her brother in this situation!!!!! My dad's a retired cop who still helps people out and is in another form of law enforcement now...and he even pulls over to help people on teh side of the road, etc.

And I worry about him, and get very VERY angry when people are always finding fault with the cops, when they don't live the life of having to worry if their beloved family member will be injured/killed by some dirtbag who has no respect for the law/the police etc.

I am on a roll, I really want to rant more...I am so sad and angry for her/him/them!!!!

My heart breaks for them. It seems that all the DD's get is a slap on the wrists. A DD killed my cousin and her her two friends and spent a night in jail. Just no regard for life it seems.

Many continued prayers for Kenneth, Danielle and her family!!

This infuriates me . He was pulling one @$$hole drunk driver making the roads safer by one less drunk driver and another drunk driver hits him. Seriously is it that hard to not get in your car after drinking. There is so many things that could be done to prevent this. . .BUT NO because people are selfish and think nothing about other people this is what happens. The punishment should be raised for drunk drivers.

My friends sister in law (whom she never met yet) was arrested 15 years ago in florida because she was drinking and driving hit someone and killed them. Florida penalty is more severe then NY's she has been in jail since then I beileve has 5 more years. I don't think that's enough, I believe it should be a life sentence.

Something has to change!!!!

I feel like the driver should be charged with SO MUCH MORE than drunk driving.

How about:
- Assault on an officer with a deadly weapon
- Attempted Murder/Manslaughter/Homicide (not sure which one would apply)
- Every traffic violation (speeding,no signal when pulling over, etc)
- Not stopping when the police ordered him to
- ETC ETC ETC

I didn't see any mention of other charges in the Newsday article besides drunk driving. At least all of those charges compounded would amount to more time than drunk driving alone.

I lost my cousin to a drunk driver and she left behind 3 little boys who till this day suffer the loss of their mom which was 9 years ago, it is very sad and I wish the laws were stricter.

I am devastated over this. I don't know what we need to do for people to realize that drunk driving kills. I don't care about the drunk driver himself - but the innocent people on the road - they are the ones who always end up hurt.

I was arrested for a DUI 11 years ago and it changed my life. I was young and soooo stupid and I thank god everyday that I was arrested because I know it saved my life and probably other lives also. We need to educate everyone more - younger kids - older adults - on why they cannot drink and drive - and that it does in fact kill.

As a mother now, this is one thing that petrifies me as my son grows up - and I am so afraid even as I am driving on the roads at night. You just never know when your life is in danger and there is really nothing you can do to protect yourself.

There HAS to be something that can be done. We need stricter laws and we need people to follow through. This needs to stop now!!!!

I have personally never lost anyone due to these morons. It makes me sick to my stomach that not one but two drunk drivers were involved in Dani's brother's accident. Also the people driving while impaired by drugs seems to be on the rise as well.

I have had my share of alcoholic around me (father, his parents and ex boyfriend).

I have absolutely no tolerance for drunk drivers an even those "a bit" tipsy behind the wheel.

I think ALL cars should have alcohol detectors.
