What is wrong with me???? UPDATE

Okay so long story short, I missed my Dec period and ended up going to the DR mid January. I took a test and I wasnt pregnant. Went to the DR, he gave me provera and I got my period. I ended on January 26.
Got an Ovulation Kit........went through all the sticks and no ovulating.
Here we are March 5, no period AGAIN, took a pregnancy test and Not pregnant........
Now, here is a little background...I was on B.C for about 8 years and went off in December 2007.
Up until now, I would get AF like clock work.
Of course all these things are going through my mind.....what if this and what if that. I am going to wait another week or so before I call my DR.
This cant be normal though? Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Well I went to the DR last night. Long story short he did a quick check and again said from what he can tell everthing is fine BUT he wants to send me to an IVF specialist.
I dont quite know what to think. I guess Im confused and I have all these emotions going through my head (thinking the worst).
I dont quite know what to expect when I go. Has anyone ever been before? and more importantly, are the visits and stuff covered by insurance?

I am not really sure how to answer that, but I would definitely call the OB, because it sounds like you might have had an anovulatory cycle.

So you've been off BCP for about a year? How long were your cycles?

It could be anything....longer cycles due to stress, or something more. I would talk to the doc and see what they say. What did the doc say when he gave you the provera?

I had a crazy cycle in Jan. I was afew days late and then in Feb I used an OPK for 2 weeks and never got a +. I went to the dr and they ran blookwork to check my levels. Have you had bloodwork done recently? They can tell alot from that.

I am no DR but this is what happnes to me. I have crazy periods. I have PCOS, its fairly common and doesn't mean you hae cysts everywhere or even any cysts. I would def. make an appt to see the obgyn.

ITA with the previous poster...I have PCOS and my cycles pre-treating it sound very similar to what you're currently going through. I had such problems, in fact, that I used to see an RE regularly for years to treat it despite my not ttc at the time. I don't know about now, but back then the OBs that I saw weren't really well-versed in treating it other than giving you a bcp & sending you on your way. It's possible that your OB is one of these docs & wants you to see a specialist that can better diagnose the issue & give you the best care that they can

I've been going through something similar. I went off BCP in June and have had several 60 day cycles, was using OPKs and temping too and based on those, I didn't appear to be ovulating. I went to the doctor, they checked things out, ran some tests, and I'm fine and turns out, I'm even ovulating. So this month, I've been using OPK since CD10 (CD1 was 2/8), went through more than one pack, and didn't get a smiley until Friday when I was getting ready to expect my period so looks like the doc is right - I am ovulating just doing it really late so it might just be that your cycles are on the long end as your body's trying to readjust. That obviously makes it really hard to get pregnant since you don't know when you're ovulating, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're having anovulatory cycles either. Only the doctor can really tell that. Good luck!

Some insurance companies do cover it, but I would call them first so you know don't get any surprises. Good Luck
