What is with all the acorns falling??
My yard is covered with them. I do not remember this happening in the past years. Well not like this anyway. You need a helmet on when you are outside.

I base this on nothing but my opinion, but I always feel like when I see 1) lots of acorns early 2) lots of roadkill that its going to be a cold winter, b/c it means that nature (trees, animals surrying around, etc) are getting prepared early.
Or it could mean that there are just a lot of acorns and suicidal racoons this year.

Was just talking about this with my father. He feels it means that we are in for a bad winter...natures way of preparing the squirrels "early".

Yes! As I was driving one night, I literally thought for a second that someone shot my car with a gun. It was an acorn that dropped on the roof.
For once I'm happy for squirrels.

seems about normal this year as compared to past years, at least by us
now i'm going to be keeping an eye out for more acorns and squirreling squirrels!

according to alot of farmers and landscapers it means an "early" bad winter...it gives the animals time to collect what they need

I was just saying the same thing while at a friends house. She had so many that had fallen in her yard. I hope it does not mean a bad winter.

OMG I think you guys are right. Its probably going to be a bad winter. I thought it was because of hurricane sandy. Idk why I thought that.
My DD tree branches are so low to the ground because of the heaviness of all the acorns. She is afraid to use her lawnmower.

I was driving the other day and heard boom on my cars roof. It scared the heck outta me. Mustve been some big ass acorn lol. Lets hope its not too bad of a winter.
