What is the heart rate old wives tale?
I know it's been asked but I don't feel like searching.

Re: What is the heart rate old wives tale?
My baby's heart rate was exactly 140. Does that make it a he/she?

Re: What is the heart rate old wives tale?
I think in the 140's are questionable....as per the *theory*. 150+ they say definitely girl and 140- they say definitely boy.
I had a girl the first time around and her HB was always 145+. This time around the HB has been about the same....we'll know in about 5-6 weeks if it's a girl.

Re: What is the heart rate old wives tale?
for me her heartbeat has been all over the map - so i don't think it has anything to do with gender....
early readings were all in the 150's or 160's, but as of late, 140's are her average...

When I went for my last check up my baby's heart rate was 162! I was only 13 weeks then. I wish I could find out already! Must wait until April!

Re: What is the heart rate old wives tale?
Basically if its high its a girl, low its a boy. If your at 140...you still have to wait.... Have you tried one of those gender predictor tests online, they go by the old wives tales. When i did it it said congratulation you have a 50% change of having a boy. I was like duhhh..... But they do ask you questions and explain all of the old wives tales. It's cute!

Re: What is the heart rate old wives tale?
When I was pregnant with Luke he always had a HB in the 160s and they kept saying it was a girl. So I don't believe this at all.
