what is the best potty seat......
For a boy who just started potty training? Also- any pointers would be helpful

I got a lightening mcqueen one at walmart w/ a high "splash guard" - and i always told DS to "hit water".

not this
we thought it was adorable, that the music would be a great thing, DS seemed to love it, but when it actaully came down to sitting on it with a bare butt, he freaked like it was uncomfortable and the pee pee guard is poorly placed, if he moves a little, it scratches him

I have one of the rings that just goes onthe big toilet. DD seems to prefer it over a stand alone one.

I think I have the Saefty First one. I read or heard somewhere that it's better to get one that is simple/realistic and looks less like a toy.

We have had several potty seats. We have a Lightening McQueen one that I don't like because it just seems really hard.
This is my favorite for DS:
It's called the Kandoo Soft Contour Potty Seat with handles
As for his aim, we just have always told him to "push your pee-she down". He knew that he had to push it down towards the water when he sat on it.
This was the very first one we got him which I liked. No bells and whistles and it did it's job.
Especially for kids first 3 in 1 potty

We used those plastic seats (Princesses, Dora etc) and they worked fine but I recently discovered a real toilet seat with a built in potty seat from Home Depot and it is great no plastic potty seat all over my bathroom anymore!
