Re: What is it like being a new parent?
I wouldn't change it for the world. It's very exhausting, but very rewarding. It's the strangest thing when I just sit there and think...we made him.... Image Attachment(s):

Re: What is it like being a new parent?
It will change your life forever. It's a love you could never have imagined. It is overwhelming, exhausting, frustrating, guilt ridden, and still the most incredible "job" in the world. This little being, this person, is part of YOU. They look to you for everything, and will put a smile on your face like never before.
Although I really agree with all of the above posters, I don't think it's something that could actually be described in words
You will NEVER be the same Image Attachment(s):

Re: What is it like being a new parent?
It is simply AMAZING!!!! I never thought i could love someone so much. Its a completely different love than you feel for anyone else. I look at her and i still cant believe we created this perfect little being. Its God's greatest gift. If i am having a bad day, all it takes is seeing her smile to brighten it. Being a mommy is incredible!!! Life doesnt get better than this. Image Attachment(s):

Re: What is it like being a new parent?
The first 6 weeks were horrible for me. Yes, I love my daughter, but I was so completely unprepared for well.. everything. I guess just the constant care a newborn needs.
She was about a week old when I had some family visiting. The baby stared crying and I looked around for a second, kind of like" Who's gonna go get her?" And it hit me " ME. I have to go get her. She wants ME" It sounds simple but what an eye opener.
She's almost six months and the biggest joy of my life. I absolutely love being her mother.

Re: What is it like being a new parent?
I'm going to be honest here. And I think everyone knows that I don't say things I don't mean, especially when it comes to my pregnancy and this baby.
So, I will start with the disclaimer of, I love my daughter more than anything in this world. I hate that I feel the need to tell everyone that, but I feel like many people look at me like I don't love my daughter when I speak honestly about how I feel. Anyway....
What is it like being a new parent? Well, for me, it's pretty awful. And here's where the line gets fuzzy. See, I love my daughter and enjoy her so much, however, I still feel awful a lot of the time. I'm overwhelmed, over-tired, lonely, scared, worried and depressed, all rolled into one. Now onto the good news...I've survived 6 weeks of feeling this way, and it seems over the last week and a half, I've only felt BETTER each day. Not worse, not the same, but better. So my conclusion is that once this overwhelmed stage passes and the fog of being a brand new parent lifts, I will absolutely love being a new parent. But for now, it's just extremely, extremely hard. That's about as honest as I can get.

Re: What is it like being a new parent?
It is so much harder than I ever thought but it is also the BEST thing that has ever happened to me. Honestly, I never knew or could've even imagined how much I would love my son. Whenever I think of him and the love I have for him, it's like my breath is taken away. He is my world, my everything!

Like alot of the others said, it is truly amazing. I feel like I appreciate life and friends and family so much more now. You know it is amazing when even the hard times you are willling to relive because you actually miss them.

Re: What is it like being a new parent?
I knew I had always wanted kids and I knew I would love them but I never knew it felt the way it does. The you have for a child only another parent can feel and it something that it so hard to explain into words. The day I had him I was amazed that I waited to have him because my life would be so incomplete without him. When my DH and I were dating he had only wanted one and that was a compromise on his part and I told him you are going to want more just wait and see. DS is 3 months old and DH can't imagine just having one and he can't wait to have two more. I look forward to a new day because everyday is different and it's a new surprise. When they smile at you with those eyes it makes you melt. Image Attachment(s):

Great Answer- honest and sharing your deepest feelings and fears. Thank you. It definately doesn't take away from the obvious love you have for your daughter.
