What internet service do you have?
We're thinking of getting Dish Net for TV but not sure what to get for internet? What do you have and how do you like it? Also, does it require a landline??

That's what we were thinking but do you need a landline for FiOS for internet? We use our cell phones as our main line so trying to avoid that.

we have the triple play, but you can get the internet alone w/out phone or tv

Optimum Online, before I moved in w/ DH he had Direct TV and Optimum for internet.
When I moved in I switched to the triple play w/ Optimum, whenever it was windy or bad whether it would affect the satellite signal, and we'd get "snow" on the tv screen.

Honestly, I lose my satellite signal less than a lot of cable users. That was the original reason I switched years ago. When people are posting on here about losing their cable, I'm still watching TV. My dish is attached to the roof joists with huge screws, so the only way that dish moves is if the roof starts to lift off the rest of the house!

No, you can use whatever you want from FiOS. We used the phone service since we are in a cell "dead zone", and no cell provider gets a reliable signal at our house. They just run the fiber to the house, and you pay for what you use. We have the TV connection there, but we don't tap into it. It would be the same for you with the phone. They would put the physical connections there, so it's easy to turn it on in the future if needed, but you don't have to use or pay for that service.
