What "gifts" are you getting from...
your parents and your DH parents?
My parents have already told me they want to buy our crib and dresser PLUS my mom is giving me the Baby Shower.
I haven't heard anything from my DH's mom yet, but I want to see what other big gifts there are to give.

My parents are paying for the furniture -- and my mom paid for 80% of the shower. (DH wanted to pay for the rest with money he saved on his own.)
MIL has said she wants to get us something -- I imagine maybe the car seat or some other big ticket item.

My parents bought all of our nursery furniture when I was pregnant with DS.
When we found out we were having twins this time they went out and got a second crib matching our original set.
eta - my mom also paid for my shower with DS and the sprinkle this time.

My dad paid for the furniture and whatever we need off our registry once the baby comes.
My IL's threw me the shower and bought me my high chair and a few small things.

My mom is hosting my enormous 120 person shower and giving me my Marc Jacobs diaper bag. My in laws bought all of the baby's furniture from Bellini....we're very blessed.

consider yourself lucky. neither parents have said anything about gifts yet. i did just start the convo with my mom about my shower but im not sure she thought about it much before i mentioned it.

my mom bought us the crib and is throwing my shower along with a ton of other stuff i can only imagine...she is very generous
my mil bought the changer/dresser
and im excited cuz my brother and sil said they would buy us the glider!!!

My parents bought all of the baby's furniture and are throwing my shower.  So ridiculously generous.
My ILs think that they are the best thing since sliced bread because they bought us our travel system which was "very generous" of them (their words)  If I was getting a bugaboo or something, maybe. But it was $300.
Can you tell that I can't WAIT for my MIL to arrive from out of town tomorrow and for her to be staying with us for a week?

My mom threw us a shower and got us our stroller; it was REALLY generous, especially knowing that my mom doesn't make much at all.
My FIL got us our glider and ottoman (which we love!). I have a feeling he has something else up his sleeve though, as we declined his offer to pay for a nurse for the first three weeks after  is born. I won't be upset if I am wrong as he has already been very generous!

my parents threw me my shower and my dad is handy and is fixing up the house for us. they also got a lot of the decor for DD's room

Crashing... I think that is the sweetest thing that your DH wants to be involved and part of the shower.

Nobody has made a formal announcement of what they're getting us--but our families arent like that. I'm sure my Mom and MIL will throw me a shower and give me a gift there.
I'm not expecting anything over the top--it's my baby, not theirs.

My mom bought our furniture, FIL bought our stroller, MIL helped us out w/ the closet and a few other smaller things, and my dad bought us the video monitor.
Yeah, both sides are divorced :P
They also all paid for the shower.

We feel so fortunate that our parents were very generous with us...it was absolutely not expected at all!
DH's mom bought us the crib and mattress from Giggle.
My mom threw me a beautiful shower and bought the bedding.
She wants to pay for when we do the newborn pictures, but DH and I already told her we would handle that, since she's done so much already.

I was  when he told me he wanted to contribute. He has his own savings that he gets a little of his paycheck put in each month (I call it his "drinking money" and he can do whatever he wants with it -- I don't consider it part of "our" money), and he hadn't even touched it in awhile and let it accumulate.
He wanted to use part of it for my shower and the rest for the baby.

My parents bought our Bugaboo stroller and will buy the car seat to go along. I am sure they will buy other stuff after the baby comes (very superstitous). ILs will likely buy us a big-ticket something (they have hinted at the furniture), they haven't really said what yet, but we are incredibly lucky to have very generous parents who are able to spoil LO.

My parents are paying for my shower and told me they want to buy the bassinet. I think they want to buy us the furniture too once we get a house/have a nursery.
DH's parents just told him they want to buy our stroller.
I try not to compare but it's really hard. This is the same thing that happened with our wedding....my parents paid for more than half the wedding and IL's paid for the limo which we got for a great deal.

I dont speak to my parents so i'll be getting nada from them.
DH parents told me that they getting us the crib and a dresser (they will prob get us other little things as well). They are very generous.

My ILs bought us the crib and I think she's also getting the dresser and/or changing table. DH also mentioned she might be getting the glider as well, but she hasn't said anything to me about it.
My sister is throwing me my shower. I don't expect anything else from her since she's young and doesn't have a ton of money to throw around.
My Dad doesn't really shop so he'll probably just end up getting us a decent size gift card to get what we need after the shower.
My mother and I have a weird relationship. I don't know what she'll get us, if anything.
