What does this mean?... another food question

So DD has started recently trying to grab any food that I am eating, or drinking.. she is almost 7mos old.. does this mean she is ready for finger foods? If so, what can I give her as finger foods?

Thanks!

Im afraid that she will choke on them.. I tried puffs last week and she seemed to gag a bit. How do I know when she is ready? Or how do i help her along? i feel like she wants it bc she grabs for it but then she doesnt know what to do with it,.

The mum mums and puffs melt, but they can gag. The gag reflex is strong. You don't have to give them yet. I didn't till maybe 7 and 1/2 months.

I did bananas and avacado, diced it and then smushed it with a fork a little because I was worried about choking. When I started puffs I broke them in half for a few days until he got used to them.

We started giving food to DD when she started grabbing as well. Poor girl would look at us eating and try to reach out for something and look sad when she didn't get anything.

We started with finely diced bananas and avocados and papayas because I was afraid of choking. Once she got used to it, we moved up to puffs and other foods.

I started with puffs and then did very small mushy things -

IMO if she's reaching for it and wants to do it herself, she IS ready (whether or not YOU are ready is a different story! Chat Icon )
