What does it take to get a president impeached
What does it really take to get a president impeached . What was clinton impeached for? I feel like it was because he lied about cheating on his wife and while its not correct I felt who gives a crap if he is cheating on his wife its no my problem its hers  I think it was cause he lied under oath was the big deal?
I sit and wonder if Trump will make it through all his 4 years without being impeached. Not because I dislike him as a person but simply because I personally don't feel he was ever qualified to even run to be president.
So in all seriousness (put aside your hate for him if you have it ) do you think Trump will do something that will get him impeached in the next 4 years?

It was the very first thing my brother said to me after the election " I highly doubt he will make it 4 years without getting impeached". We will see.

The one college professor who has a model that has predicted correctly every election for the past few decades predicted Trump would win. But he also said the model predicts that Trump would get impeached. From his lips to God's ears.

The one college professor who has a model that has predicted correctly every election for the past few decades predicted Trump would win. But he also said the model predicts that Trump would get impeached. From his lips to God's ears.
Michael Moore has said the same- and he all along predicted Trump would win despite what the polls were saying.
It would take a lot for him to be impeached since there are so many Republicans who would make the decision. He would have to do something really egregious that they could not ignore. And this is not going to be a transparent administration because he hates the media. AND he lies with no consequences. So I wonder. I think it's more likely that he will resign.

Honestly, I really believe he will resign before he can be impeached. Running for president is very different than actually being president. Once the adoring, screaming crowds are gone, once the honeymoon is over and he has to deal with the reality of the country and the world right now, once he has to work with a congress and Republican party that can't stand him, once he understands that he cant just fire someone he disagrees with and, and once he actually has to get down to the business of BEING president, he will quit. I don't believe he ever really wanted to be president, or every really thought that he could actually win. Now its reality time, and he has no idea what he is in for. I will be shocked if he actually makes it to the end of his term.

I read an article that the GOP will have no problem impeaching. They haven't supported him since day 1 and he is destroying the party. They know he is volatile, untrustworthy, and unstable. They are happy with Trump's choice of VP, Mike Pence, one of the most extreme right wing conservative politicians in the GOP, stepping in as president now. They're also thrilled he was able to align the GOP majority they needed. Basically, Trump gave them exactly what they want. Now, they wait...

I always said he ran NOT because he wanted to be president but because of his HUGE ego. I think it was all a game to him at first and then the whole thing got away from him. I'm pretty sure right about now he's crapping his pants. Here is a 70 yr old millionaire that doesn't HAVE to work and spends most of his time relaxing in his gold plated palace. Being president is a 24/7 job and I don't think he's up for the task nor do I think he thinks he is.
I would LOVE the idea of him being impeached or even stepping down however, Pence is his VP and that guy is scary a$$ backwards so I'm not sure I would want him running the show either. Sadly, we're fcuked for 4 years.

Folks, I'm not happy with the thought of Pence as president with his anti-abortion and anti-gay stances. But, I actually trust him more than Trump when it comes to not selling us out to our enemies, and threatening our national security. I cannot say the same for Trump. Russia sure has been sniffing around America's buttcrack since Trump came around. Regardless of party, we should ALL be worried when Russia is involved with and thrilled by the results of our election. I can't believe they're going to trust him with top secret intel now  
Basically we are screwed either way.

But, I actually trust him more than Trump when it comes to not selling us out to our enemies, and threatening our national security. I cannot say the same for Trump. My DH mentioned to me yesterday that he read a similar article (sorry, I don't have a link to it). Basically, the GOP doesn't care if Trump screws up (in fact, they hope and expect he will), and that they would impeach him and elevate Pence.
I'm honestly more nervous about a Pence presidency than Trump. Either way, we are in for some rough times ahead.

Why the F! would ANYONE want to wish death or impeachment on Trump is beyond my understanding. I don't care what you think about a thing. I don't know a single soul who wants Pence as President. That man got a free ticket to the White House.

Well, technically if he's impeached, he commits an offense and is tried. I think 60% has to agree a crime was committed. Pence would only become President if Trump was convicted.

While I agree with this, I guess the fact is that Pence is likely going to be running the show either way. It sounded like when he tried to get Kasich on his ticket, he said Kasich could essentially be in charge of everything and he'd be busy "Making America Great."
So, I wouldn't doubt that's what he's agreed to here. Why should the president be bothered with mundane tasks like, you know, being the president.

I read that too. We can always thank his supporters for giving him the overinflated head he now has and for thinking he actually cared to be president.
