What do you think of this.....
i went to my DH familys' house today. his cousins wife holds up my purse and says "whose michael kors purse is this?" so i said, that it was mine. she says "oh my god, where is my daughter, i have to show this to her, she loves michael kors!!" her daughter is 9, yes 9 years old. how could her daughter LOVE michael kors?? 
i really don't get some people!

but sadly, it could be true, which again, I have to at.
we have friends who children carry coach bags, wear uggs and carry cell phones.
the oldest is 10.
the middle aged one is two years younger, she got a coach bag, a REAL coach bag for her communion. and I'm not talking a wristelet, I'm talking a regular coach pocketbook.
so, yeah, I supposed her 9 year old could LOVE michael kors bags.
sad if you ask me. i think it makes these kids older than their years and not in a good way.

I totally agree. I didn't even know what Coach was until I was probably in college. It's a different world now...
ETA: I mean, of course I saw Coach in the mall, but I wasn't interested in their stuff until I was in college, maybe older.

but - on the other hand - when i was around ten years old i knew who vera wang was and IDOLIZED her... so go figure??

It is crazy - my mom was MAKING my clothes at that age. And I didn't care at all. . .
My DH'S ten year old niece freaked out on Christmas because I got Uggs and a coach bag. She just didn't understand why I got stuff like that and she didn't. Never mind that I spent a small fortune in Limited Too for her

I don't see what the big deal is... Kids are different these days... And even when I was 9 I remember a friend or 2 that was into something WAAAAY beyond their years.. Whether it be fashion, cars, books...

Kids these day's are spoiled, i myself never had a coachbag i wish i did have one, But i got my first vera bradley pocketbook last year for my birthday. I never heard of michael kors.

That's a little scary! I never heard of Michael Kors until college. I didn't buy my first Coach bag until after I graduated from college and had a full time job where I could afford to pay for it! Even now, I still tend to shop at factory outlets for designer handbags

What's so wrong with it?
Maybe the kid is into fashion? - Isn't Michael Kors always on Project Runway?
At 9 years old she could be developing a real interest in clothing and fashion and whatever .........
Besides that, Hannah Montana was at the dam Oscars in Valentino !!! - (or some other designer ........I think it was Valentino) So, these 'little' girls are interested in what they're wearing ........

I think the term spoiled is a bit harsh in this situation and frankly way over used when it comes to describing kids today. Remember our parents generation considered US spoiled too.
I do think kids today have alot and may not realize it but to me a spoiled kid is a bratty kid who demands and gets whatever they want with no regard for where it comes from.
Just because they have alot doesn't necessarily mean they're spoiled.
My nieces have a lot, but they're taught to realize this and for that I don't think they're spoiled b/c they don't just expect to get whatever they want even though in the end they most likely will get whatever it is that they want.
