What do you think?

I am scheduled for a dental implant next week...
should we hold off on TTC till after then??
i would prob be between 1 and 3DPO for the procedure.
We already BD once at CD 10
today is CD 13

Do you think i should postpone my appointment till after the 2WW just to be sure? i already put down my first payment, and it is $$$

Re: What do you think?

I'd just call the dentist and tell them that there's a possibility you could be pregnant at the time of the appointment - would that be a problem?

I know some things are okay and some aren't while TTC/pregnant... so I'd just ask them to be sure.

yeah that is prob what i will do....i am just frustrated now b/c i want to be BDing, like NOW....but now i am too nervous to b/c i should really get this implant...and if i DID in fact get pregnant, then who knows when i would be able to get the work done, OR if they could even refund me the deposit (they had to order a piece)
I guess the best thing is just to hold off....this is SOOO FRUSTRATING!

Just call tomorrow and I'm sure they will give you an answer. It might be something that is okay to do in very early pregnant (which you would be).

Just tell them you could be 3 weeks pregnant at that time - and ask if that's okay.

Re: What do you think?

Most dentists will not touch you for more than a cleaning if there's a possibility you're pregnant. So if you do get pregnant this cycle, you're looking at about 10+ mos before you could get the implant done.

I'd call the dentist to be sure but for both times TTCing, I made sure I had all my ducks in a row regarding my own health before we began - JMO

if they say it's not a good idea do you think i should still reschedule since i did infact BD that once (even though it was CD 10...i doubt i O'ed that early, although i never track O so i have no idea) my cycles are short as well (27-29 days)

It wouldn't hurt to reschedule after your 2ww is over, this way you'll be 100% that you are not pregnant before you have the dental work done - just don't BD anymore just in case!

Re: What do you think?

thanks for the advice! okay...i will TRY not to BD. If i need to i will change my appointment, but it is true....i really need to get this done and out of the way before thinking about getting pregnant. I also think i have one more filling to get done so i should just get the implant, then the filling and start off 2009 with a clean slate! otherwise i know if god forbid i got pregnant i would be so worried and paranoid that something might happen to the baby and i dont think i could live with myself. TTC and pregnancy although exciting, is also so scary, and i dont know how i would get through it if it wasnt for you ladies on here. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
