2 weeks pay. I asked around extensively in NYC, and this is standard if they are full time.

I have a PT nanny (3 days a week) who has been with us since mid-September. I think we are going to give her about a half-week of her normal pay. If she was here a full year, we would have done a full week's pay. We live in Nassau County - not sure if that makes a difference!

yes, but this may totally be a NYC thing where good nannies are hard to come by.

this is true, 2 weeks minimum, some even do a month pay if it's someone who has been working for you for more than a year, full time. my boss used to and so did many of her friends. I always got a months pay when I used to be a nanny in NYC.
