Re: what do you do if...
she only did that as a newborn, sometimes I would just have to keep driving(if I was alone). Other times I would pull over and check up on her. She would flip out when I stopped, she was only happy when I was doing like 60mph, so red lights were not our friend.

Re: what do you do if...
we;re lucky samantha is awesome in the car - she loves it and just sits and looks around and then eventually falls asleep....
the one time she did cry I tried to pull over and giver her a pacifier but she didn't want it - we were 15 mins fron home so I figured I would just get there....she cried for 5 minutes and then fell asleep !

Re: what do you do if...
Keep driving. I know it sounds bad but eventually they will stop. I only pulled over once because he got so worked up that he threw up so I sat in the back and held him. He didnt really like the car up until about 3 months old and I would only go local places where I was the most 10 minutes from the house. Then one day I went shopping with my cousins fiance and she sat in the front on the way their which was fine b/c he was sleeping. Well on the way back he was up and he was crying and I felt weird asking her to go back their so after 10 minutes he fell asleep.

Re: what do you do if...
I've had to pull over twice but DH doesn't like the idea of me being alone. I don't like the idea of him screaming though. He liked the car ride at first but not recently.

Re: what do you do if...
Today this happened and I let him cry. He calmed himself down. I thought about pulling over, but then I figured he might just start whaling as soon as we take off again, so it was better to keep going and get home sooner!

In the beginning, I pulled over & tried to console him. Later on I would just make sure the windows were closed so not everyone could hear what a bad mom I was as I calmly drove wherever I needed to go.

I would agree with that one. Sometimes...babys...cry...
It takes a while to realize that, but sometimes. They.Just.Cry.
Noah was a nightmare in the car (always on the way home from somewhere strangely enough) until we got the front facing car seat about a month ago.

Hayley was was always good in the car, she always fell asleep as a newborn. Now that she is older she likes to look out the window.

Re: what do you do if...
Keep driving and turn on her mirror (which I totally rec) it plays music and flashes lights so it keeps her occupied they sell it in BRU by the carseats, it is remote controlled by the driver and was the best $20 I've ever spent!

Re: what do you do if...
When Alex was younger, I would usually stop and feed her or give her her paci. If we were close to home, I would just drive home and let her cry. Now that she's 13 months, and seriously testing her limits, I let her cry and calmly drive to where we are going, BUT, I won't get her in the car unless I know (1) her diaper is clean, and (2) she is fed. Alex tends to fuss and she has started to HATE car rides, so there's really not much else I can do, especially considering I have to travel to LI every weekend now to help out my dad As my last resort, I bought a DVD player for the car and play one of her videos. On longer rides, I try to time it so I head out right at her naptime so the crying time is limited

Re: what do you do if...
DD used to scream in the car when she was a newborn and there was really nothing I could but keep driving or reach back and try to shove a paci in her mouth which didn't really work. She got better as time went on and only really got good in the car around 4 months or so.

I think he is just going through a "I want to be held at the time stage" It took me forever to get out of the house today because he cried until I picked him up.
