What do u think......update

I have my first cd3 appointment with Dr. Braverman today after work. At the consult we spoke about doing injectables + IUI instead of clomid b/c I've been on clomid long enough. My question though is since I've never done injectables before do u think he'll start me right on it this month or do I have to take one of those classes to learn how to do the injections? I really just wanna move right into the injections without losing a month but I dont know if this will be possible since I know ZERO about administering the injectables.

Update: Well as it turns out Dr. Braverman thinks that due to my high level of insulin I may have PCOS. I had no idea So it looks like I'm gonna have to take a month off or 2 after all because he wants to start me on Metformin. I really wanted to just get started but I know he knows whats best. We started with an RE because of severe male factor issues and all this time I thought I was OK. I guess not

I'm sure any of us can do the class for ya!!

It's really very simple, but at this point between getting the class and getting the meds...you might have to put it off. But ask him,he may be able to start stimming you a little bit later on in the cycle, can't hurt to ask.

I didn't have any classes when I started--they just went over eveything in the office with me the day before--it was simple- you'll be fine I promise

Lisa, I don't think you need a class. If you need any help, let me know, I can meet you one night after work and show you everything, it's not a big deal.

i am almost positive he will start the injectibles this month with you!!

i didnt know anything either, and his nurse just comes in the room to show you.. its really easy too!!

they will have the meds delivered to your house!

I'm sorry, I mis-read...you didn't have CD3 appt yet! Yeah, he'll probably get you started right away. If they use Kraupner's they'll get you the meds tonight!! I was thinking you had the appt already and didn't get meds or instructions...

Lisa, I think he'll just start you on it. Sandra will show you how to do the injections right then if you just ask and say you're not sure how. Its really no big deal at all.

Oh, Lisa, I'm so sorry. But look at it this way...if you DO have PCOS and you start on Metformin, it helps with implantation...and if that's one of your issues, you are on your way to pregnancy, girl!

Thanks Lauren....its just so frustrating. I wish my other RE would have picked up on it. Now I feel like I wasted my time with them.

Did your old RE ever send you out for the 1,2 or 3 hour GLUCOSE fasting testing? Did your old RE know you had high inslulin?

If not I glad you moved on

i hate when i hear of issues that other RE's miss.

Hang in there Lisa, seems like Braverman really cares for his patients and treats every one of his patients as individuals opposed to just another chart.

I know its frustrating, but ur in good hands.

praying everything will turn out ok!

I know it's hard, but try not to focus on the negative and what was missed (as frustrating as it is...). Think about getting a new piece of the puzzle and take heart in knowing it is fairly common and can be treated with decent results. Sounds like even though you'll be waiting an extra month or two, you'll have even better odds once you get back into the game!

Wow - I can't belive that was missed ....They are the ones who diagnosed me with PCOS ...Hopefuly you get some answers now !
