what could be wrong with my 2 month old?

Dd is 8 weeks (4 adjusted). She's usually a very easy, content baby. Last night she was really fussy but I just thought she was overtired. She went to bed fine and slept well. Woke up for a quick feeding at 4 and was back down by 430. She woke up at 5 though and was immediately crying so hard. I spent an hour trying to soothe her before she finally nursed and feel asleep. She slept maybe a half hour and again woke up hysterical. It's been the same all morning. She doesn't feel warm, not congested, maybe a little gassy but nothing much. I've tried bicycle legs, skin to skin, bouncing, etc. She's sleeping on and off but any time she starts to wake up she's crying. I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

have you checked to see if a hair is wrapped around a finger or toe? That was never a solution for me, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Do you have gas drops? When I was at a loss that always calmed my LO, even if they weren't showing signs of gas pain.

Is she on formula?

Around two months is when DS all of a sudden started not being able to tolerate the Similac Blue and needed Similac Sensitive (Orange). Once we did that and started putting one probiotic packet a day in his bottle, he was SO CONTENT.

The probiotic helps with gas and keeps him regular -- it's also a good immune booster :) and the sensitive helped with the gas as well and fussiness. Then, we did gas drops PLUS gripe water -- everything we could. All of it together, he was in heaven.

ETA - I should also say that he cried most when he wanted more and more and more food -- at around two months he just had a spurt and wanted tons of formula. So, I just upped what he was eating and that made him happier also.

She's not on any formula. She's slept a bunch but is still mostly crying if she's awake. I'm sure the crying is wearing her out at this point.

My DD went through something very similar at that age. She was also EBF. It was the only time we used gripe water or gas drops. It lasted a few days and then vanished. I remember reading somewhere that around 8 weeks their intestines and digestive system go through a change and that can cause some tummy troubles. Just keep nursing her through it. Burp more frequently and give her a bit of gripe water. I also tried to avoid super gassy foods like broccolli. As long as her poop is normal then I wouldn't worry too much.

I could be something that you ate that is bothering her.

That sounds like colic.
My first kid had it.
It stinks (and lasts weeks)... though what you are describing sounds like it's happening early AM, colic usually happens around 6 pm.
Try changing diet a bit, but my ped essentially says hang in there & know it will end.

Isn't 8 weeks a fussy time? Most babies go through this. Hang in there!

Thanks for all the suggestions. She finally was back to herself at 3pm. I really hope to not go through that again. Dd1 had her gassy or fussy moments but it was usually in the evening and not that long or intense. It really threw me of how sudden it was and to start at 5 am was weird. Hoping she stays happy

Around eight weeks is when my dd food allergy symptoms started to increase. Fussiness and gas were among the symptoms.

Was it during that period? If its usually that time maybe it's witching hour.

I believe there is a growth spurt around the 8 week mark, which can cause fussiness. How is she feeding? If she's latching well and happy I'd let her nurse on demand.

My LOs both had dairy intolerance, but fussiness wasn't a symptom, I knew from incredibly mucousy diapers. If diapers look fine, I'd give gripe water, and let her nurse as much as possible and try baby wearing too.
