What are your clothing "rules"
For me:
I never buy anything scratchy or irritating-even if I love the style
I try not to buy dry clean only because I hate dry cleaning. I do have suits for work-I use DRYEL sometimes and only clean them every month or so....
I do not iron-I spray most of my clothes with a spray bottle and throw in a dryer. If it desperately needs an iron my DH does it for me-I have not ironed in about 3 years.
What do you do?

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
I agree about the itchy clothes and the ironing thing; I HATE ironing my blouses (and refuse to be ripped off at the dry cleaners) so I try to buy sweaters as often as I can.
I never buy anything cropped; no 3/4 sleeves and no capris. They look stupid on me.

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
I also do't buy any cropped pants. ( i'm ok with 3/4 ) sleeves.
I don't buy anything that's faux layerd. That just drives me crazy.
No animal print or faux fur.
Nothing that needs to be hemmed, b/c I know I'l never get around to it.
I think I have to instate a no hand wash only rule, b/c nothing dries in my apartment & I think I may have just ruined several sweaters.

Same here. Also V-necks look weird on me due to my freakishly long neck.
No cheap or synthetic fabrics.
Nothing ill-fitting. Sure, many things can be tailored, but some things are just poorly cut and will never look right.
Nothing that I can't picture myself wearing 5 years from now.
Nothing that everyone else already owns.

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
I have to match my blacks.
For example, I have a nice new black and gray argyle sweater. I can only wear it with my dark black pants. I can't wear it with faded black pants or a black that is "off" a bit in color.
If I wear a white, beige or cream colored shirt, I wear a tan bra. A white or off-white bra still shows through.
No panty lines.

I wanted to let you know-you can partially dry them in teh dryer than hang and stretch-I wouldn't do it with wool-but you can do it with other materials. HTH

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
Nothing with any bit of wool in it, I am allergic!
No dry clean only stuff, because its not worth it to me.
I am 5'7", but have really short legs, so I hem all my pants and jeans. I hate that "too long" look in pants....
Never wear a white/beige bra under a black shirt because it does show. If I wear a black shirt, I wear a black bra.
Same goes for not wearing a white bra under a white shirt. IMO, white bras are useless, get nude color!
I hate having bra straps show - and that goes for clear bra straps. Umm, I can still see them!
I'll post more when I think of them because I know I have more!

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
i wear nothing without straps, no tube tops no strapless dresses - i have a small chest so i definitely COULD wear them but i know myself and i know i will be pulling them up every two seconds and that is NOT an attractive look
no panty lines, thongs only
no visible bra straps EVEN clear ones. . . i never really understood that trend BUT i do wear the clear ones under shirts that i know the shirts fall off my shoulders

ITA!!! I don't even own bikini underwear, briefs, etc. I am in thongs 100% of the time. Athough I do have a few pairs of boyshorts but I only wear them for sleeping, never out.

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
no matter how cute the shoes are, if they're not comfy, they're staying at the store
I also don't buy anything itchy like wool or acrylic
and I def try to not buy anything that is dry clean only. no matter how good of a deal, a pair of pants for $30 will end up costing you hundreds over its lifetime

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
Oh! Thought of another one. I only buy my shoes at DSW. Is that weird? I just refuse to go shoe shopping anywhere else for some reason. I haven't bought a pair of shoes anywhere else in like 4 years.

Thanks! I don't have a washer/dryer, so I hate to drag hand washed stuff to one of the laundry rooms in my complex (outside) but I might have to. Or I may just dry clean everything.
And I remember my- other rule--no turtleneceks!

Same here - which means no skinny jeans! I would love to have a pair of jeans that I could tuck into my boots without the baggy knee syndrome, but then I remember that I have a very 3 demensional derriere!

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
- jeans can NOT be too long or drag over hang over my boots. - Shirts must hit at my hip or longer - I hate wearing stockings - My blacks have to match - My bra and underwear match my outfit (weird I know!) - I never dry clean my clothes, I just wash it all....what the heck if I ruin it I will buy something new - I never wear brown and black together - I wont wear a brown bag with a black outfit either or vice versa - I change my accesories/jewerly everyday
hmmm I probably have more but I cant think

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
Gosh I dry clean everything...even my jeans!!!
But I don't wear skinny strap tanks...I have to wear bras that have support and they do not have skinny straps.
My jeans must be wide leg or flare...they have to balance out my hips.
I hate V-neck shirts on me...look good on others...never on me.
I don't wear anything purple or lavendar or any shade of it. I don't prefer the color and it looks awful on me.
Thongs only! I don't own regular undies!

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
Oh, I HATE white shoes...NEVER where them. I dont wear shorts, my thing is if my thighs touch no shorts. I hate when people wear a white bra under a white shirt...this is why they make nude bras. I hate matchy, matchy couples. Makes me nuts when they both look like twins. No pantielines. No bra straps showing. Oh and my favorite, buy shoes that fit. If your funky foot hangs off the back, suck it up and go a size bigger.

Re: What are your clothing "rules"
Just b/c it's 'in' doesn't mean it looks right on me.... - I stick to what looks good on my body and what I'm comfortable in, not what is the latest trend ........ -
(Perfect example, all of these tent dresses and baby doll type shirts ......ADORABLE - LOVE them .....BAD BAD look for my body - Don't own any!!)
