It's for a friend. They are looking for a condo/townhouse/coop.Their price range is 200.000-225.000(not sure if they can find anything in this price range in LI)
Good schools and easy commute to Queens/Manhattan.

Thank you

I don't think they'd find much in Long Island that close to the city. We're in Bayside and its school district has been rated the best district in NYC. Its a 20 minute train ride to Penn Station and close to lots of parks. We're currently selling our 2 bedroom, but for higher than their price range. If they want a 2 bedroom I think they'll be more like in the 250k range.

Does it need to be near LIRR? We're in Valley Stream and most of the school districts are good. My ILs live near the Gibson station and they are in the Hewlett district. I think they're district is #24. We are in district #13, which is okay.

Great Neck has co-ops in that range but they are mostly 1 bedrooms. I'm not sure if that would work for your friend. If they are concerned with great schools I am assuming they have children and would need at least a 2 bedroom. They might want to try Great Neck Terrace - it's a co-op community that is garden apartment style. It is walking distance to the little neck LIRR train station. They might be able to find a 2 bedroom in there for that price in this market.
