what are my daycare options ?

Right now, my 2 children go to a center from 8/9-3:30.

DH's work hours may be changing, so we will need daycare from 10ish-3:30.

What are the rules at your daycare center ? Is over 5 hours full time & I have to pay the fulltime $$. I hate paying for a 12 hour day when only using 6.

At what age does preschool start & how many hours is it ?

I love the center environment but maybe inhome/nanny would be better with our schedule ?

I'm in the babylon area, if you have any recommendations.

Thanks!

most centers are not hourly, its a flat rate for the day, but some may offer hourly, ours isnt close to you, but does offer hourly as long as its 5 hours per day 3x per week... in home may work out better

seems most of my friends kids start preschool at 3 now

Re: what are my daycare options ?

The daycare center we use has half day sessions from 8-1 and 1:30-5:30 - but that doesn't seem to fit your schedule.
Not sure if other centers are the same.

In my experience it is not much cheaper to enroll DD in full time then part time.

For example:
5 day toddler program 1/2 days = $245
5 day toddler program full day = $300

You might like the flexibility of having the extra hours available to you on some days to drop them off early or pick them up later. If not you can always stick to your regular schedule..

They also do preschool for ages 3-5 same schedule different rates.

I would look for a licensed in home daycare. They will usually do an hourly rate. I know of a great one in Lindenhurst, but she works a teacher's schedule. FM me if you want the info. She's amazing and very reasonable.
